Romans 2:28-29- "The Meaning of the Name Jew"
see v. 29: The name "JEW" comes from "Judah"- it means "THE LORD BE PRAISED": A true Jew is one who seeks "PRAISE ... NOT FROM MEN BUT FROM GOD. According to the commentary of the Orthodox study Bible- the goal of the "legalist" is to have praise from men; the goal of a spiritual person is to please God.
Romans 3:1-18- "Conclusion: All Are Unfaithful"
Romans 3:23: "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
This verse sums up everything in the first 18 verses of Romans Chapter 3.
