Sowing the Seeds of Righteousness:

Proverbs 1:18

The wicked man does deceptive work,

But he who sows righteousness will have a sure reward.

The Proverbs teach us that righteousness is one of the general virtues of Wisdom (Christ). These virtues are said to spawn all the other virtues called seed; the Hebrew word for sows is “Zara,” which also means seed. Wisdom (Christ) provided human nature with this seed, and this seed grows, develops, and also bears good fruit in all those who obey Him.

In Matthew 6:33, Jesus says, “ But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. This is our first step in our walks for sowing righteousness. By seeking God first, we are building our foundation on the Rock/Christ (Matthew 7:24-29). Building steady foundations and getting them set will ensure the storm will never blow us over.

In closing, in 1 Peter 1:15, Simon Peter writes, “But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct.”
