Greek word of the day- ἐπιφέρω epiphérō, ep-ee-fer'-o; from G1909 and G5342; to bear upon (or further), i.e. adduce (personally or judicially (accuse, inflict)), superinduce:—add, bring (against), take.
But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unjust who inflicts wrath? (I speak as a man.)
Isaiah 26-
See vv. 6-5: This passage can be compared with what the Virgin Mary said, "He has put down the mighty from their thrones/And exalted the lowly" (Luke 1:52).
See vv. 7-8: "THE GODLY" are being "PREPARED" to follow Christ when He comes. This passage can also be compared with the reading about the parable by Christ explaining the "Ten virgins" (Matthew 25:1-13- "It explains the importance of being spiritually prepared).
See v. 16:my version uses "HARD CIRCUMSTANCES" - this should seem by the righteous a reason to remember the Lord. The holy prophet calls them in my version "A SMALL AFFLICTION"- St. Paul writes, "Our light affliction, which is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory." (2 Corinthians 4:17).
See v. 19: "THE DEAD SHALL RISE UP" - talking about the "END OF THE AGE"- see also 1 Corinthians 15.
see vv. 20-21: Isaiah- a powerful prophet of doom- he is also a good shepherd who spent all night in prayer to console his people with these words.
Isaiah 27-
See v. 1: "THE SWORD" is Christ, the Incarnate "GOD", who will slay "THE DRAGON"- Satan- "He who follows the serpent shows that his life is crooked, and filled with contrariness, but he who follows after the Lord makes his paths straight and his footprints right" (BasilG).
See v. 6: This passage is saying those who are left will "BUD" and bear fruit. These are considered the true "CHILDREN IF JACOB"
See v. 9: King Hezekiah - destyed the "IDOLS" in Jerusalem "temporarily" (see 2 Chronicles 31:1- 4Kingdoms18:4 or (2Kings 18:4) )- Christ Will permanently destroy the idolatry of sin for all of mankind.
See vv. 10-11: this passage is telling the captivity of Jerusalem
See vv. 12-13: "THE SONS OF ISRAEL" are seen as symbolic of the apostles, who will "BLOW THE GREAT TRUMPET" of truth, gathering Christ's scattered sheep together in a single flock "ON THE HOLY MOUNTAIN"- The Church.
