Our Daily Bread: Isaiah 58-59: Do not Neglect Salvation: Have a Wise Heart in Christ:

Shalom,

Good Monday morning it’s October 18, 2021, I pray all is well. Today lets strive for a wise heart. In Christ we become a new creation discarding the old way of living and doing things. When we become this new creation it’s imperative we never neglect our salvation or neglect trying to get more sinners to Yeshua (Jesus), Christ our God.

“Blessed are You Lord our God as I begin this lesson and Study, I pray You help my heart to stay wise, so there is no neglection of salvation. Give me the strength and courage to stay wise, and lead us all to Your great glory, for You are the One, the Beginning and the End; All will be judged, and Your Kingdom will have no End!”

Today’s Readings and Scripture work from The Book of Isaiah Study will cover Chapters 58-59: Today’s message from Readings and Scripture Work comes from Proverbs 4:19-28, and Hebrews 2:1-4.

In the name of the Father and the Son and Holy Spirit. Amen!

Prayer of Enlightenment

Having received this new day as a gift, I thank you, Holy Trinity, for through Your

goodness and patience You were not wrathful with me, an idler and a sinner, neither have You cast me down in my sins. But You have shown Your love towards me and have guided me to keep my daily watch and to glorify Your power. Enlighten my mind to study Your word and open my heart to understand Your teachings in Scripture. Help me to apply what I learn and to praise You with all of my heart and to glorify Your holy name, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen!

58:1: YHWH, calls Isaiah to rebuke the people loudly, like the trumpet that was traditionally blown when a fast was called: (Joel 2:15). The People display an outward religiosity that hides the wickedness in their hearts.

58:2-5: Fasting and other ascetic acts do not necessarily indicate virtue. Blessed Augustine reminds us that even heretics fast! YHWH will not see these actions if we mistreat others. YHWH chooses rather that we humble our own soul. “A sacrifice to YAHWEH is a broken spirit”, (Psalm 50:19).

58:7-8: The gospel is both social and redemptive. First, the physical needs must be met, and then the spiritual needs can be satisfied.

58:9: I am here: YHWH is instantaneous in answering the prayers of the righteous. Sometimes He will reveal His presence through circumstances, and sometimes with a still, small voice, but always He will help us to know He dwells with us.

58:11: Generation to generations: The inheritance of the faithful will never be cut off.

58:12: Just as Israel was called to be built on unchanging ancient foundations, so is the Church. What makes the Orthodox Church orthodox is its commitment to remain faithful and unaltered from generation to generation.

59:1-2: YHWH is able to save, but He will not have mercy where there is no repentance. “Remember YHWH at all times, and He will remember you whenever you fall into evils” (IsaacS.).

59:3-4: “For preserving with delight in wicked actions, they hasten thereto without turning back, even treading under the foot of the commandment with regards to neighbors, and instead of loving them, desire evil against them” (AthanG).

59:12-13: This passage offers the words that can be spoken to show repentance and receive forgiveness from YHWH. (Theod).

59:17: Paul uses this verse in his passage on spiritual warfare (Ephesians 6:13-17; 1Th 5:8).

59:20-21: Christ who delivers will come to Zion, “the lost sheep of the house of Israel” (Mt 15:24). Turn back ungodliness: Then the Holy Spirit will be given to the Church at Pentecost, and the proclamation of the Gospel will be established forever.

“My Abba in Heaven thank You again for giving me the strength to finish this study. Create in me a wise heart, a clean heart and cleanse me off all impurity. Help me to be a messenger of Your great words and glory, that I bring sinners back to You, and no one has the excuse to neglect salvation!”

Proverbs 4:19-28: http://bib.ly/Pr4.19-28.NKJV : Wise Heart

4:19-28: The Paths of Wisdom involve the senses, both of body and soul: the ear, the heart and its fountains, the mouth and lips, the eyes and eyelids, the feet, and the hands; such involvement brings healing and wholeness.

Hebrews 2:1-4: http://bib.ly/He2.1-4.NKJV : Do Not Neglect Salvation

2:1-4: An admonition against willful negligence and carelessness by a slow process, a drift of attrition. If, and how, suggest a conditional statement or question. If Israel was expected to obey the words of the created angels or suffer punishment, how much more must we heed what YHWH Incarnate has said through His apostles especially when the word has been confirmed by many miracles of the spirit, proof that the Kingdom has come upon us? When we ask in the liturgy for “pardon and remission of our sins and transgressions” and a “good defense before the awesome judgement seat of Christ”, we affirm is a just reward, or retribution, a very real Judgement.

“Thank you Lord for today’s lesson and study. You are the One who provides all we need, today give us the strength and courage to have a Wise Heart in You. Lord give us the strength and courage not to neglect our salvation, give me patience to continue to bring sinners back to You, Abba have mercy on me! Abba have mercy on all who serve You, heal our sick and help our elected officials with wisdom. Abba, I ask and pray for all, and I pray this in the Holy Name of Yeshua Hamashiach, Christ our God!” Amen!

The Father is my hope. The Son is my refuge. The Holy Spirit is my protection. Holy Trinity, glory to You!

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For Yours is the Kingdom, the power and the glory of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen!

May YAHWEH Bless you all,
