Morning Reflection: “Live with Confidence and Courage”

Good morning... Great is His faithfulness...

PSALM 112:7-8

He will not be afraid of evil tidings;

His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.

8 His heart is established;

He will not be afraid,

Until he sees his desire upon his enemies.

1 Chronicles 28:20

And David said to his son Solomon, “Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord God—my God—will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord

The Lord spoke the same words to Joshua just before Israel crossed over the Jordan into the Promised Land - (Joshua 1:9) … Both Joshua and Solomon are both types of Christ …

Joshua 1:9: 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

2 Corinthians 5:6-8

So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

BEING ALWAYS CONFIDENT-(v. 6) in the resurrection means we are being PREPARED BY GOD THE FATHER AND THE SPIRIT-(v. 5) to join the Lord-(v. 8), Jesus Christ:

2 Timothy 1:7

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

ANY CHRISTIAN MAY BE PERSECUTED –(John 15:20; see Matthew 5:11-12, and see my notes), we reject feelings of fear or timidity…We do not “quench the Spirit”(1Thessalonians 5:19), but act with power and courage – (see also 2Timothy 2:12; see also Matthew 10:33; Luke 9:26)

Deuteronomy 31:8; Exodus 14:13; St. Paul's Letter to Philemon 1:1-25; and The Gospel According to Mark 14:43-72; 15:1

Numbers 6:24-26

“The Lord bless you and keep you;

25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

26 The Lord[a]lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.” ’
