Acts 8:26-39 The Ethiopian Eunuch
Acts 8:29-31
29 Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake this chariot.”
30 So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?”
31 And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him.
According to St. John Chrysostom, only those who are mature in faith can hear and discern the promptings of THE SPIRIT. And those of lesser of faith are prompted more directly by words and angels. Here Philip is being a good shepherd and tending to the sheep to feed them their spiritual food with understanding. Scriptures also have a specific Gid given meaning, according to 2Peter 1:20-21- knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private [a]interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but [b]holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. It is sometimes impossible to truly understand the Scriptures from the Church meaning help from those who have better understanding, especially for apostolic interpretations is held in the consciousness of the Church, according to the commentary of the Orthodox Study Bible.
John 6:40-44
John 6:44
No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.
God searches our hearts this is speaking of predestination. We seek Jesus through our own free will and by doing this it leads to the heart of the Father, and the Father draws us in nearer to Him creating that divine communion and personal relationship that we were all created for in the beginning. Seeking God is manifestation of the Spirit and it's through this manifestation we learn how to not only draw closer to God, and Him closer to us, but we learn how to defeat our spiritual warfare.
Numbers 6:24-26
“The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
26 The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.” ’
