NOTE: Greek Word of the Day: †καταναθεματίζω katanathematízō, kat-an-ath-em-at-id'-zo; from G2596(intensive) and G332; to imprecate:—curse.

Matthew 26:74

Then he began to curse and swear, saying, “I do not know the Man!” Immediately a rooster crowed.

First Reading John 20:19-31

"Jesus Appears to Ten Disciples" and "The Purpose of John's Gospel"

(vv. 21-23)- read Acts 14 and 1 John 1- Acts 14 helps with the understanding of ordination see especially vv. 22-23 in Acts 14. See 1 John 1- helps with understanding confession and walking in the light see especially 1 John 1:5-10, this chapter is very short.

The doubt of Thomas is described in the Church hymns as "BLESSED" , it was not a doubt of the resistance of truth, but one that desperately needed a truth answer- this doubt gave birth to "FAITH" - when the answer was revealed. In the hymns of the Church, Christ says to Thomas, "Your doubt will teach MY PASSION AND RESURRECTION TO ALL", and we affirm that his doubt, "brought the hearts of believers to knowledge." The conversion of Thomas' doubt into faith led him to the clearest confession of Christ's divinity, addressing Jesus as MY LORD AND MY GOD (v. 28).

John 20:28-29:28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”

29 Jesus said to him, [a]“Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

"Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed" this is for all those in Jesus' time, and after His time all the way up to our present time, keep the faith and stay the course endure to the end.

Second Reading Hebrews 9:11-14

Third Reading Mark 10:32-45

Jesus' Third Prophecy of His Passion- and True Greatness in Serving

vv. 32-34: Christ's had repeated predictions of His Passion and they were attended to encourage and to also strengthen the disciples for the world they would soon face after His Passion. This confirms Christ went on His own free will and by His own choosing to be crucified on the CROSS.

vv.35-40: I read Matthew 20:20-23 for comparison please see this morning's video for better understanding. Other sources to help understanding of Matthew 20:20-23- Hebrews 12:2; and Romans 6:3-6; Matthew 11:11 and also Luke 1:28

v. 45: The phrase FOR MANY is an Aramaic expression meaning "FOR ALL."

Numbers 6:24-26

“The Lord bless you and keep you;

25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

26 The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.” ’
