Morning Reads: John 12:17-50 & Matthew 26:6-16- “Dying for This World” - The Woman with Faith …

Welcome back. Great is His faithfulness.

NOTE: Greek Word of the day- κυβέρνησις kybérnēsis, koo-ber'-nay-sis; from κυβερνάω kybernáō (of Latin origin, to steer); pilotage, i.e. (figuratively) directorship (in the church):—government.

1Corinthians 12:28

And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.

John 12:17-50 DYING TO THIS WORLD

John 12:24:

24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much [a]grain.

According to the commentary of the Orthodox Study Bible, the image of the GRAIN OF WHEAT dying in order to bear fruit signifies that Christ's death will give life to the world. In many Orthodox Churches, boiled wheat this is sweetened and spiced is served at memorial services for the departed faithful to affirm God's promise that those who have died in Christ will rise again to life.

Matthew 26:6-16

"The woman that anointed Jesus, portrayed the two commandments of Christ. When the woman anointed Jesus before His burial was showing us all her faith. She loved the Lord with all her heart, mind, soul and strength by the act of anointing our Lord. She also showed love to her neighbor with Her mercy, humility and a act of pure kindness." She is an example of faith we should all imitate in our own lives."

Reading from Psalm 100(101).

Numbers 6:24-26

“The Lord bless you and keep you;

25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

26 The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.” ’
