Morning Reads: Isaiah48:17-49:6; Genesis 27:1-41; Proverbs 19:17-25- “Two Kinds of Fear”

Welcome back. Great is His faithfulness.

"THE SPIRIT IS WILLING BUT THE FLESH IS WEAK..."

NOTE: I forgot my ending prayer after the readings so I'm adding it to the end of the write up. The Greek word of the day- Κάϊν Káïn, kah'-in; of Hebrew origin (H7014); Cain, (i.e. Cajin), the son of Adam:—Cain.

I John 3:12: not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous.

First Reading is from Isaiah 48:17-49:6

See vv. 17-18 in Isaiah 48- THE WAY in which the people of God were called to walk is the law, GOD's COMMANDMENTS. By doing this it brings PEACE... LIKE A RIVER.

See v. 1 I'm Isaiah 49: The promise of the coming messiah WILL STAND FOR A LONG TIME, until it being fulfilled when He is revealed from His mother's womb in the incarnation. See Luke 1:31- the angel Gabriel says,  "And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus."

See v. 2 in Isaiah 49- Christ will come, not to "bring peace, but a SWORD" (Matthew 10:34). The arrow is a metaphor for the divinity of Christ, and the quiver is a metaphor for His humanity.

See vv. 3-6- in Isaiah 49- it's through the divinity of Christ, the Father WILL BE GLORIFIED on earth see v. 3, and in His humanity, those who are brought BACK TO HIM will be joined to Him and will know HIS STRENGTH. This is how humanity is reconciled back to GOD.

Second Reading Genesis 27:1-41

We see in v. 2 of Genesis 27, that Isaac did not know the day he would die. He was a man of God a man of faith who was preparing himself for his departure from this fallen world to one of heavenly peace and rest.

See v. 7 here in Genesis 27- According to the commentary of the Orthodox Study Bible. The Lord is present and fills all things. This blessing of the firstborn is foreshadowing the incarnation of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, please see my video for further discussion. (Romans 4:13, and Romans 8:29; Galatians 3:3; v. 18, v. 29- and Galatians 4:7- Ephesians 1:11, 14, 18; and Ephesians 3:6- Colossians 1:12, 15, 18; and Colossians 3:24; Titus 3:7; Hebrews 1:2,4,6- Hebrews 6:17; Hebrews 9:15; Hebrews 11:7-9; and Hebrews 12:23; James 2:5; 1 Peter 1:4; 1 Peter 3:7- and Revelation 1:5). It was through His incarnation, He would secure the Church's eternal inheritance.

See v. 34 here in Genesis 27:41: Esau despised the faith of Abraham see Hebrews 12:16-17. In the Day of judgment, people who in this life reject the offer of the future inheritance will be unable to find repentance in that day.

Hebrews 12:16-17

 lest there be any fornicator or [a]profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright. 17 For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears.

Third Reading Proverbs 19:17-25

"Mercy and Malice"

Proverbs 19:23: "The fear of the Lord is unto life for a man, and he shall lodge without fear in places where knowledge is not examined."

There are two types of fear in this verse. ONE IS FEAR OF THE LORD, it helps to nourish our spiritual life in us all. THE OTHER FEAR IS FEAR IN PLACES WHERE KNOWLEDGE IS NOT EXAMINED. Orthodox study Bible has a question, what place is this where Wisdom (Christ) knowledge is not examined? We see in this fallen world that many refuse to examine this knowledge, and failure to examine Wisdom's knowledge will nourish unnatural fear in us all and brings on the darkness of spiritual ignorance.

O Lord God Who have spoken to us Your divine saving Words and You illuminate the souls of sinners to comprehend what we just read. That we do not become just hearers of spiritual words but does of good deeds, true pursuers of faith, and having a blameless life In conduct without reproach in Christ our God, and You are our Light, and we give Glory to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen...

Numbers 6:24-26

“The Lord bless you and keep you;

25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

26 The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.” ’
