Morning Reads: Acts 2:38-43; John 3:1-15; Psalm 46(47)- “New Birth” “Faith Makes Us Well…”

Good morning. Great is His faithfulness.

Greek word of the day- ζημιόω zēmióō, dzay-mee-o'-o; from G2209; to injure, i.e. (reflexively or passively) to experience detriment:—be cast away, receive damage, lose, suffer loss.

Matthew 16:26

“For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

Psalm 46(47):6,1

Sing praises to our God, sing praises.Verse: Clap your hands, all you nations.

Acts 2:38-43

Acts 2:42: And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ [a]doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

These elements of worship were present from the very beginning and is continued in the Orthodox Church to this day. APOSTOLIC DOCTRINE being taught in the FELLOWSHIP of a common assembly, breaking of the EUCHARISTIC BREAD, and also specific liturgical PRAYERS. Prayers is literally "the prayers" in Greek, which is referring to specific liturgical prayers. The Jews also practiced liturgical prayers for centuries, preeminent prayers being the Psalms. The Psalms point clearly to Christ, and Christians immediately incorporated them into NT worship.

My advice is this, the PSALMS are a great way to start your journey with Christ, it's how I got started praying and reading the Psalms daily.

John 3:1-15 New Birth: Entering the KINGDOM- I read an article from my study Bible talking about this.

Nicodemus believed Jesus was from God, but he also feared his peers so this is why he came to Jesus at night. BORN AGAIN- the word can be translated "from above" and is clearly referring to a heavenly birth from God. Heavenly baptism, meaning heavenly birth (v. 5) and also our adoption by God our Father (Galatians 4:4-7). As Christians we see our new birth as the beginning of our spiritual walk with Christ, but our mission is to set the goal of the entrance into THE KINGDOM OF GOD. See v. 14- there we see an act of faith, Moses lifted up the serpent see Numbers 21:4-9- and all the Israelites had to do was to look and they would be healed, it was an act of faith. The ones who probably didn't look remained sick by their own free will. The Son of Man will also be lifted up so whoever believes Him will not perish but have eternal life.

Psalm 46(47)

Is a Psalm and a prophecy of Christ and His ascension to the Father. (See my teaching video for the reading and discussion).

"God is in no hurry. Compared to the works of mankind, He is extremely deliberate. God is not a slave to the human clock." Charles Swindoll

this quote seemed fitting for today's lesson talking about our new birth in Christ. He chooses us we don't chose Him, when we fully surrender ourselves to Christ and His ways and when weenter that relationship with Him, we are completely changed and our hearts become pure. We llive for truth, and truth is Christ.

Numbers 6:24-26

“The Lord bless you and keep you;

25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

26 The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.” ’
