Morning Reads- Acts 2:14-21; Luke 24:12-35; Psalm 100(101): Joel’s Prophecy is fulfilled- See Note

Good morning. Great is His faithfulness.

Greek Word of the day: †κατακαυχάομαι katakaucháomai, kat-ak-ow-khah'-om-ahee; from G2596 and G2744; to exult against (i.e. over):—boast (against), glory, rejoice against.

Romans 11:18

do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.

Note- I spoke about Christ defeating Hades, please see this link, I will be talking more about this next week- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_views_on_Hades - http://ww1.antiochian.org/node/18270 https://www.oca.org/orthodoxy/the-orthodox-faith/spirituality/the-kingdom-of-heaven/heaven-and-hell Satan is defeated and so is death, call on the Name of The Lord and be saved. What I meant to say in my video is that Christ has already won the battle, please read that link because next week I'm going to tie everything in.

Acts 2:14-21

See vv. 16-21- It was on Pentecost, that the first part of Joel's prophecy (Joel 3:1-5- from my Orthodox Study Bible, see vv.17-19 in Acts 2) this was fulfilled with the outpouring the Holy Spirit. The next part -(see vv. 19-21) will be fulfilled at the SECOND COMING OF CHRIST.

Joel 3:1-5- "The Promise of the Holy Spirit this was read from Orthodox Study Bible because of differences from other Bibles...

Luke 24:12-35

Luke 24:32: And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?”

DID NOT OUR HEART BURN WITHIN US: according to the commentary of the Orthodox Study Bible, the inescapable effect of hearing the Holy Scriptures taught correctly and with faith- (see also 2Timothy 2:15). This burning is the conviction that the words and promises are indeed true. When I read passages like this it makes me wonder if standing in the presence of Christ everyone felt something even those who rejected Him.

Psalm 100(101)

It's called simply a Psalm by David, it's a morning prayer, and is the key of understanding see v.1 "Lord, I will sing to You of mercy and judgment."

"We need to ask the Lord daily for His mercy and this alone is enough for your salvation."

Numbers 6:24-26

“The Lord bless you and keep you;

25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

26 The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.” ’
