Morning Readings: Isaiah 42:1-17;Genesis 18:20-33;Proverbs16-17:17- “Lying Lips are Destructive”

Welcome back. Great is His faithfulness.

NOTE: Greek word of the day- †κύπτω kýptō, koop'-to; probably from the base of G2949; to bend forward:—stoop (down).

Mark 1:7

And he preached, saying, “There comes One after me who is mightier than I, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to stoop down and loose.

First Reading Isaiah 42:1-17

See v. 1: I PUT MY SPIRIT UPON HIM is indicating the Holy Trinity- "I" and "MY"- is pointing to the Father, "Him" is the Son, "Spirit, is the Holy Spirit.

See v. 8: Christ does not share His GLORY with ANOTHER, not even CARVED IMAGES, or even people who take personal credit for all things that God does.

See vv. 10-12: in Christ, the glorified Church will SING...A NEW SONG - see Revelation 5:9

See vv. 13-17: This passage is prophesying Christ's mighty acts of vengeance against HIS ENEMIES at the judgment. He will TURN DARKNESS INTO LIGHT - see v. 16, which will be for the faithful.

Second Reading Genesis 18:20-33

Abraham was a man of faith, honor and integrity, he seemed like a man who upheld truth. See vv. 23-32, Abraham intereceded for the righteous in Sodom, but the city was so evil the only righteous person was Lot, by Abraham's intercession it deleivered him. In return the Lord delivered Lot, and allowed Abraham to participate in the work.

Third Reading Proverbs 16-17:17

Proverbs 17:8: "Faithful lips wil not adapt to a man without discernment, nor lying lips to a righteous man.

LYING LIPS are destructive to all relationships. If truth is not upheld than we have nothing but chaos, we are to live by example especially if we have the Spirit of Truth dwelling in us. Everyone should live by example because this is true leadership, and living by example in both honor and integrity all while preserving the truth is in line with the WILL OF GOD.

Proverbs 17:16: He who judges the unrighteous as righteous, and the righteous as unrighteous, He is unclean and abomination before God.

Our current world is living this way what's bad is now good and what's good is now bad. Our world reflects a world that no longer values truth, instead it values feelings and instant gratification as more important than the truth. This style of living is abominable before God.
