Morning Readings: Isaiah 41:1-14; Genesis 17:1-9; Proverbs 15:20-16:9 - “Faithfulness & Almsgiving”

Welcome back. Great is His faithfulness.

NOTE: Greek word of the day - λιπαρός liparós, lip-ar-os'; from λίπος lípos (grease); fat, i.e. (figuratively) sumptuous:—dainty.

Revelation 18:4

“The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you,[fn] and you shall find them no more at all.

Revelation 18:23:“The light of a lamp shall not shine in you anymore, and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you anymore. For your merchants were the great men of the earth, for by your sorcery all the nations were deceived. NOTE: this also stood out to me. This morning I spoke about keeping our hearts pure. Sorcery in Revelation 18:23- translates: †φαρμακεία pharmakeía, far-mak-i'-ah; from G5332; medication ("pharmacy"), i.e. (by extension) magic (literally or figuratively):—sorcery, witchcraft.

First Reading Isaiah 41:1-14

I AM: which is repeated twenty-seven times see chapters 41-49 here in Isaiah (see v. 4): "I AM THE EXISTING ONE" - this phrase is also written in Greek in Christ's halo on Orthodox icons Ὁ ὬΝ "The Name of God is "Yahweh" - This is how the Son and Wird of God reveled Himself to Moses (see Exodus 3:14). See my video for the rest of the discussion in Isaiah.

Second Reading Genesis 17:1-9

"Circumcision": "Sign of the Covenant"

See vv. 2-4: THE COVENANT IS ESTABLISHED in Christ see Galatians 3:17- it was established according to scripture before the Mosaic covenant. The Law Moses could not cancel it. It's the faith of Abraham that is MULTIPLIED EXCEEDINGLY in the Church. For he is the father of many nations see also Romans 4:16-17.

Abram's first name meant "exalted father" - the name change to Abraham means "father of many" - the name changes that salvation is for everyone Jews and Gentiles alike.

Third Reading Proverbs 15:20-16:9

"Finished up" "Righteous Responses" Proverbs 15- started "Humility, Discernment and Righteousness" Proverbs 16

Proverbs 15:30: "Sins are cleasnsed by almsgiving and faithfulness, and by fear of the Lord everyone turns aside from evil."

ALMSGIVING AND FAITHFULNESS from the Orthodox Study Bible these are the fruits of the general virtues of Wisdom - Christ. These virtues cleanse the sins of love of money and unbelief. These show true fear of the Lord by which we turn aside from choosing evil (vices).

"It's telling us to have a pure heart in almsgiving as well as our faithfulness, and also in our fear of the Lord is also done with purity of heart. The Lord evaluates our hearts, by evaluating our hearts is how He chooses us to do certain works in His name. We all have spiritual gifts and must use them in a good way with a pure heart."
