Morning Readings: (Is29:13-23;Gen 12:1-7; & Pr14:15-26) "The Holy Spirit Spoke Through the Prophets"

Good morning and welcome back. Great is His faithfulness.

Greek word of the day: κατακλυσμός kataklysmós, kat-ak-looce-mos'; from G2626; an inundation:—flood.

Matthew 24:38

“For as in the days before the FLOOD, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,

First Reading is from Isaiah 29:13-23

Isaiah 29:13: Therefore, the Lord said:

“Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,

Lord is telling us all here in this scripture that having the right heart before Him in prayer is more important than having the right words, Our Lord hears our “groanings which cannot be uttered.”

Romans 8:26:

“Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

For starters we see another look into the Essence of the Father, the Son and The Holy Spirit here in v. 26 makes a reference to the SPIRIT HIMSELF. So, believers DO NOT KNOW how to PRAY effectively. We get guidance from THE SPIRIT when we are in prayer, and this helps to overcome OUR WEAKNESSES and teaching us how to pray and by interceding directly for us when its clear sometimes are our prayers our inadequate. Our Church Fathers (Apostles) identify three stages of Prayer – (1): Saying the words of prayers; (2): saying the words with meaning and concentration; (3): praying without the words, when one is so filled with the Holy Spirit that human words become inadequate, the highest form of prayer.

Isaiah 29:15: Woe to those who seek deep to hide their counsel far from the Lord, And their works are in the dark; They say, “Who sees us?” and, “Who knows us?”

Those who operate in the counsel of the dark being proud of being deceitful is seen as foolishness in God’s eyes.

Genesis 12:1-7

“The Holy Spirit spoke through the prophets” – (CREED). Just like He spoke to Moses, and was Moses who wrote this scripture, beautiful, beautiful. St. Paul said, “And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, ‘In you all nations shall be blessed” – (Galatians 3:8). It was also the Holy Spirit Who preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham. It was also the Holy Spirit Who inspired Moses to write v. 1. THE LORD APPEARED to Abraham and spoke to him. Who is the Lord? Isn’t He God the Father, and which St. Paul graciously appointed out in Galatians 3:8: “God would justify the Gentiles by faith.” So, it was the Father who preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand. In v. 7, it was the Holy Spirit also inspired Moses to write THE LORD APPEARED to Abraham and spoke to him. Next question who is the Lord who appeared? The Holy Spirit identifies Him in Genesis 15:1 as the Word of the Lord whom Abraham saw in a vision, and He is identified as the ANGEL OF THE LORD in Genesis 16:7, 16:9, 16:10, 16:11, and in 16:13. “This Word is the Son of God – (AthanG) and the Angel is also the Son of God, for He was no created angel – (HilryP). “He is called Angel because He alone reveals the Father – (AthanG). So, the Son also preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, for the Father always speaks through His Word. So we see the One Essence of the Holy Trinity, where One Person of the Trinity (Godhead) is present and working, the other two Persons are also present in one and the same working for the salvation of all mankind all of the world. The Father works through the Son and in the Spirit.

Genesis 15:1: God’s Covenant with Abram

15 After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, [a]your exceedingly great reward.

Genesis 16:7: Now the Angel of the Lord found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, by the spring on the way to Shur. 8 And He said, “Hagar, Sarai’s maid, where have you come from, and where are you going?”

Genesis 16:9: The Angel of the Lord said to her, “Return to your mistress, and submit yourself under her hand.”

Genesis 16:10: 10 Then the Angel of the Lord said to her, “I will multiply your descendants exceedingly, so that they shall not be counted for multitude.”

Genesis 16:11: 11 And the Angel of the Lord said to her:

“Behold, you are with child, And you shall bear a son. You shall call his name [d]Ishmael, Because the Lord has heard your affliction.

Genesis 16:13: Then she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, You-Are-[e]the-God-Who-Sees; for she said, “Have I also here [f]seen Him who sees me?”

Proverbs 14:15-26

“RIGHTEOUSNESS AT HOME”

"My advice at the end of the readings was to allow Scripture to affect your heart. Ask the Lord remove the scales from your eyes before reading, asking to have all bias removed before reading will ensure your mind is truly open to hear the voice of our Lord speaking directly to you from your heart. It's through discipline, obedience, self denial and struggle that makes us both disciplined and obedient to the voice of our LORD. I chose Orthodoxy because it paved the way for me because no other faith teaches this anymore, the true ways of our early Church Fathers the Apostles and Disciples this I will uphold the true teachings of Jesus and His Apostles, that's because I believe in One Holy Catholic (Universal) and Apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins. I look forward to the Resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come Amen!!!"
