Morning Readings (Is 11:10-12:6; Gen 7:11-8:3; Prov 10:1-22) “We live the days of Noah”

Good morning. Great is His faithfulness.

NOTE: Greek word of the day - κατάδηλος katádēlos, kat-ad'-ay-los; from G2596 intensive and G1212; manifest:—far more evident.

Hebrews 7:15:

And it is yet far more evident if, in the likeness of Melchizedek, there arises another priest

1st Reading is from Isaiah 11:10-12:6 -

“And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse,Who shall stand as a banner to the people;For the Gentiles shall seek Him,And His resting place shall be glorious.”

11 It shall come to pass in that dayThat the Lord shall set His hand again the second timeTo recover the remnant of His people who are left,From Assyria and Egypt,From Pathros and Cush,From Elam and Shinar,From Hamath and the [a]islands of the sea.

12 He will set up a banner for the nations,And will [b]assemble the outcasts of Israel,And gather together the dispersed of JudahFrom the four [c]corners of the earth.13 Also the envy of Ephraim shall depart,And the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off;Ephraim shall not envy Judah,And Judah shall not harass Ephraim.14 But they shall fly down upon the shoulder of the Philistines toward the west;Together they shall plunder the [d]people of the East;They shall lay their hand on Edom and Moab;And the people of Ammon shall obey them.15 The Lord will utterly [e]destroy the tongue of the Sea of Egypt;With His mighty wind He will shake His fist over [f]the River,And strike it in the seven streams,And make men cross over [g]dry-shod.16 There will be a highway for the remnant of His peopleWho will be left from Assyria,As it was for IsraelIn the day that he came up from the land of Egypt.

A Hymn of Praise

12 And in that day you will say:

“O Lord, I will praise You;Though You were angry with me,Your anger is turned away, and You comfort me.2 Behold, God is my salvation,I will trust and not be afraid;‘For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song;He also has become my salvation.’ ”

3 Therefore with joy you will draw waterFrom the wells of salvation.

4 And in that day you will say:

“Praise the Lord, call upon His name;Declare His deeds among the peoples,Make mention that His name is exalted.5 Sing to the Lord,For He has done excellent things;This is known in all the earth.6 Cry out and shout, O inhabitant of Zion,For great is the Holy One of Israel in your midst!”

In Isaiah 11- v. 10- His resting place is interpreted by some of the Father’s to be the Tomb of Christ, an honorable place of veneration. It is also said Christ finds His rest in His saints, and whom He dwells in.

vv.11-12- salvation was first to the JEWISH “REMNANT”’ and then for the GENTILES … From the four corners of the earth - (other sources read from Acts 1:8; and Romans 1:16) see my video for the rest of this discussion. See also John 12:32…

v. 16- The Highway is the one that led Israel out of captivity in Egypt, and will be opened up later for Mary and Joseph to bring the Christ Child there to protect the child from Herod, and the apostles to return there with the Gospel of Christ.

Isaiah 12:1-6- for vv. 4-6 compare this Song of Praise to the Song of Mary in Luke 1:45-55

2nd Reading is from Genesis 7:11-8:3

11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. 12 And the rain was on the earth forty days and forty nights.

13 On the very same day Noah and Noah’s sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them, entered the ark— 14 they and every beast after its kind, all cattle after their kind, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, every bird of every sort. 15 And they went into the ark to Noah, two by two, of all flesh in which is the breath of life. 16 So those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him; and the Lord shut him in.

17 Now the flood was on the earth forty days. The waters increased and lifted up the ark, and it rose high above the earth. 18 The waters prevailed and greatly increased on the earth, and the ark moved about on the surface of the waters. 19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth, and all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered. 20 The waters prevailed fifteen cubits upward, and the mountains were covered. 21 And all flesh died that moved on [a]the earth: birds and cattle and beasts and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, and every man. 22 All in whose nostrils was the breath [b]of the spirit of life, all that was on the dry land,died. 23 So He destroyed all living things which were on the face of the ground: both man and cattle, creeping thing and bird of the air. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive. 24 And the waters prevailed on the earth one hundred and fifty days.

Noah’s Deliverance

8 Then God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided. 2 The fountains of the deep and the windows of heaven were also stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained. 3 And the waters receded continually from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters decreased.

It was by Noah's faith the animals were saved. The whole creation will be saved through the children of God - (see Romans 8:18-22).

Romans 8:18-22

From Suffering to Glory

18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of [a]corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.

The world is always in tribulation because faith is all about endurance and struggle is key, because our faith is made perfect through weaknesses, and that's why we hold our faith in trust in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Christ our God.

The Lord God shut the door of the Ark, He is the JUDGE and is the One who determines who is in and who is out. Just like we see today as in comparison to Noah’s time people going about their usual way of life. Buying, selling, eating, drinking, marrying meaning giving into marriage. These people were extremely indifferent to GOD and to His grace just like we see today. These people were caught off guard and were unaware, but it was too late for them to respond to repentance their grace period ended, and just like when the time comes for that Day of Judgement in the glorious Second Coming of Christ many people will also be caught of guard and unaware just like in the time of Noah.

3rd Reading is from Proverbs 10:1-22

The Wisdom of Solomon

Numbers 6:24-26

“The Lord bless you and keep you;

25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

26 The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.” ’
