GET OUT OF THE BOAT, TAKE HEART- AND FOLLOW CHRIST NO MATTER THE COST Matthew 14:28-33-Mark 6:50-52

Good evening. Great is His faithfulness. Christ is Risen!!!

"Get Out of The Boat" DAY 39

Matthew 14:28-33

28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”

29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw [a]that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”

31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.

33 Then those who were in the boat [b]came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”

"Simon Peter liked being in the middle of the action. When the disciples realized the mystery figure on the water was Jesus and not a ghost, Simon's fear morphed into faith. And excitement. And resolve. Simon had a growing desire to be wherever Jesus was even if that meant braving a squall. As for the others? Well, they stayed put." (The Chosen 40 Days with Jesus devotional Book 3, page 168).

What I learned from Simon after deep thought it this, Simon got out of the boat on a leap of faith willing to be the Lord even though of the water and the wind. Simon teaches us that our faith needs to take a leap of faith and get out of the boat instead of always floating. Simon's sinking was the result of his weakness of the flesh and taking his eyes off the path leading him to Christ, it was his doubt. We must all step out of the boat at certain times in our calling and do not be afraid about sinking because Christ is always there to pull us up.

"Heart of the Story" DAY 40

Mark 6:50-52

50 for they all saw Him and were troubled. But immediately He talked with them and said to them, “Be[a]of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” 51 Then He went up into the boat to them, and the wind ceased. And they were greatly amazed in themselves beyond measure, and marveled. 52 For they had not understood about the loaves, because their heart was hardened.

Jesus is the heart of my story, because of Him my change is evident. He makes us everything we are not, and it's my honor and my pleasure to share transformation in Christ with the world.

"Whatever clouds you face today, ask Jesus, the Light, to help you look behind the cloud to see His glory and His plans for you."

Billy Graham

Numbers 6:24-26

“The Lord bless you and keep you;

25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

26 The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.” ’

Despite the closed doors of the dwelling where the disciples were gathered, our Saviour, in a genuinely miraculous display, entered and stood in their midst. He greeted them with His customary words,
