Proverbs 4- is divided into three sections:
Obedient Thinking - vv. 1-8
The Paths of Wisdom- vv. 9-18
The Wise Heat- vv. 19-28
Proverbs 4:24: "Let your eyes look straight forward, and let your eyelids assent to righteous things."
"He looks straight forward who has thoughts free of passion, and he has true judgments, who is not in a state of excitement about external appearances. When he says, 'Let your eyes look straight forward', he means the vision of the soul." (St. Hippolytus)
This reading was chosen because it’s Memorial Day, and I struggle on this a day a great deal. I also have other personal struggles going on and so this reading lays out a three point plan on how to either get back on track or stay on track.
