Good morning. Great is His faithfulness.
Greek word of the day- ἐρεύγομαι ereúgomai, er-yoog'-om-ahee; of uncertain affinity; to belch, i.e. (figuratively) to speak out:—utter.
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying:
“I will open My mouth in parables;
I will utter things kept secret from the foundation of the world.”[fn]
ESCHATOLOGY- This is the study of the "LAST DAYS" or "THE END OF TGE AGE." In regards to the Holy Scriptures, Christ will definitely return at the end of the age, and He will judge both the living and the dead. Christ will also destroy all the evil, and He will reveal His everlasting Kingdom. (Matthew 25:31-46- "The Judgement of works"- Revelation 20:10-21:1- "Great White Throne Judgement").
Matthew 25:31-46- Main focus this morning
vv. 31-46- Gives us a majestic climax - this is not simply a parable, but a prophecy of a universal judgment that will come and it is coming. The standard of judgment will be the in uncalculated mercy towards others.
See v. 32- "THE SHEEP" or the righteous and the "GOATS" are the unrighteous - the goats live a life of sin they continue to walk along side cliffs thus indicates sin and being unrepentant.
See v. 34: "INHERIT" refers to sons and daughters by adoption (see Galatians 4:4-7)- we are all children of God by adoption.
See v. 40- here refers to all the poor and needy, meaning all those who are "HUNGRY OR THIRSTY" speaks of both the spiritual and physical poor and needy. The physical hungry and thirsty need food, water and clothing, the spiritual are the ones hungry and thirsty for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. All those who see Christ in all they help is fulfilling the "Greatest Commandment" to love one's neighbor as yourself- who is our neighbor it's everyone we encounter who is need of both physical need and spiritual needs.
See v. 41- in the Scriptures it's telling us that the "FIRE"was "PREPARED FOR THE DEVIL" and his fallen angel buddies. For God did not create hell for man, but will follow Satan into that torment by their own free will and coldness of their hearts.
