Don't Lose Heart (2 Corinthians 4:16)

Don't Lose Heart (2 Corinthians 4:16)

2 Corinthians 4:16

Therefore, we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, the inward man is renewed daily.

Our battlefield is spiritual, and each day, the fight between the flesh and spirit collides headfirst, bringing a series of choices, and we must choose daily between doing our own will or doing the will of God. The Way of Christ isn't easy, and it's a narrow path only a few finds. The Bible teaches us that our faith and salvation are found in Christ and that trust is built on first understanding our passage from death to life and from darkness to light (John 3:1-6; and Colossians 1:13-14), and through repentance, our faith, and our baptism (" I have been saved"); and from here we go through a process of spiritual growth and maturity (2 Peter 1:2-8), and from here a process on ongoing repentance, faith, and also communion, and this process is called deification (" I am being saved"), and then we receive the promise of eternal life (2 Corinthians 5:9-11; John 14:1-6), and from here we are called to preserve ourselves in righteousness (" I shall be saved"). Paul is explaining the second element, the process of our salvation. Paul is describing that our inner life is being renewed day by day.

"Lord, give me the strength to bear the fatigue of the coming day with all that it shall bring. Direct my will, teach me to pray. And, Yourself, pray in me. Amen. "
