DO NOT QUENCH THE SPIRIT (1 Thessalonians 5:19-22)- "We are all Winners In Christ..."

Good morning, my brothers and sisters in Christ.

1 Thessalonians 5:19-22

Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies. 21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil.

Summary:

Jared's devotional emphasized the significance of not suppressing the spirit. He elaborated on the repercussions of ignoring, disobeying, or rejecting the Spirit's guidance, using Isaiah's prophecy and its interpretation in Romans and Exodus as examples. The session concluded with a reading from Psalms, a prayer, and a reminder about the upcoming study of Acts the following Monday.

Spiritual Hardness and Discernment - (Time 0:00)

Jared led a morning devotional on the importance of not quenching the spirit, as described in First Thessalonians, chapter 5, verse 19. He explained that if we habitually ignore the Spirit and do not repent, our hearts can harden towards God's Word. Jared also highlighted the need for discernment and testing to avoid being misled, even as Christians.

Isaiah's Prophecy and Pharaoh's Hardened Heart (Time 5:22)

Jared discussed the prophecy of Isaiah and its interpretation in the context of Romans and Exodus. He elaborated on this concept by referring to the example of Pharaoh in Exodus, emphasizing that Pharaoh's hardened heart resulted from his stubbornness and not a consequence of God's actions.

Biblical Study and Discussion - (Time 11:32)

Jared led a discussion focused on the biblical passage from Isaiah and emphasized that people choose to sin because humanity sins by choice and mankind is good by nature. The discussion concluded with a reading from Psalms and a prayer. Jared mentioned that the study of Acts would resume on the following Monday.
