DAY9: THE ANSWER: (John 14:12-17) - “The Spirit of Truth”- Holy Spirit- Comforter Counselor Advocate

Welcome back. Great is His faithfulness.

"If God truly abides in us than we should able to uphold the truth, how can God abide in us if we are unable to uphold the truth. Truth is a form of love, if God abides in than this love of truth should be upheld in us all."

John 14:12-17

The Answered Prayer

12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater worksthan these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you [a]ask anything in My name, I will do it.

Jesus Promises Another Helper

15 “If you love Me, [b]keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another[c]Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

The greater works mentioned in v. 12 is indicating that Christ working through us all.

To pray in Christ's NAME means not to simply apply Jesus name after we pray. Instead it means to pray in His Name according to His Will not our own will. Our purpose is not have God to do our will, but learn to learn how to properly pray to God's will - (see also Matthew 6:10).

HELPER -(Greek "parakletos") is referring to the Holy Spirit, it also means "Comforter" , "Counselor" and "Advocate."

"THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH" is in each believer, we are called to KNOW HIM. The Holy Spirit prays in us all when we have a hard time praying, it also enables us to pray in Christ's Name. (See also Romans 8:26- John 14:13-14) it also gives us words of witness when we speak the gospel ( see also Mark 13:11).
