DAY29: NEW AND OLD- (Matthew 13:51-52 & 1Peter 3:15) “Be a Scribe for the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN…”

Good evening. Great is His faithfulness.

Matthew 13:51-52

51 [a]Jesus said to them, “Have you understood all these things?”

They said to Him, “Yes, [b]Lord.”

52 Then He said to them, “Therefore every [c]scribe instructed [d]concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old.”

St. John Chrysostom notes and teaches that Jesus does not exclude the OT, He instead praises it as a TREAURE. Those of us who truly write or speak of the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN will draw from the unity of what it says here in scripture of the NEW AND OLD Testaments, both are holy, the New being fulfillment of the Old Testament. (Read Matthew 1:22- and read the notes).

1Peter 3:15

15 But [a]sanctify [b]the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;

This is a challenge for us all to be able to answer when asked about our HOPE in Christ WITH MEEKNESS AND FEAR.

"In the midst of the pressure and the heat, I am confident His hand is on my life, developing my faith until I display His glory, transforming me into a vessel that pleases Him!!!"

Numbers 6:24-26

“The Lord bless you and keep you;

25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

26 The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.” ’
