Day16 The Chosen Blended Gospels Eat My Flesh & Drink My Blood- Gentile Woman with immeasurable LOVE

Good evening. Christ is in our midst, Great is His faithfulness

"Some Walk Away" - John 6:60-71

Some of Christ's disciples took His teaching on His Body and Blood as a hard saying (v. 60)- and MANY WALKED WITH HIM NO MORE (v.66). Even to this day, there are still who reject Christ's own words concerning the sacramental eating of His Body and the drinking of His Blood, and chose not to walk in His teaching. The difficulty of some grasping the depth of this Mystery and yes it's a mystery, many attempt to either define its nature rationally or even try to explain away Christ's words altogether, and this gives them a purely metaphorical meaning. Either is extreme is wrong, to reject this sacramental teaching is to reject the witness of the Scriptures, and is also unanimous teaching of the church throughout history.

John 6:53-56

Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For My flesh is [a]food indeed, and My blood is [b]drink indeed. 56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.

The brothers of Jesus do not believe- John 7:1-9

In Matthew 12:46-50- Jesus refers to a spiritual family that His mother, brothers and sisters are those who hear the Word of God and does it. Christ family did not understand His mission, and Christ had no blood brothers- Ezekiel 44:1-4- The East Gate Is for the Lord- the teaching of the Apostles here it tells us that Mary's womb is THE EASTER OUTER GATE and it is SHUT- see John 19:26-27- Jesus commits the care of His mother to His disciple John, and if Mary had other children how come they did not take care of her? Because Christ had no blood brothers enough said...

Jesus breaks Religious Traditions- Matthew 15:1-20- Mark 7:1-23

Jesus informs the Pharisees here that their views on rital purity depended on outward actions, but Jesus informs them that it is rather the state of one's heart that determines a persons purity.

Jesus and a Gentile Woman- Matthew 15:21-28- Mark 7:24-30

The Gentiles woman shows us immeasurable love- she identifies with the sufferings of her daughter that she cries "HAVE MERCY ON ME, the woman sees her daughter's well being as her own and her daughter's sufferings as her own.

Healings in the Decapolis- Matthew 15:29-31- Mark 7:31-37

Jews here had a lack of faith unlike the Gentile woman who had persistent faith and humility. According to St. John Chrysostom, Christ healed the Gentile woman, "with much delay, but these immediately, because she is more faithful than they. He delays with her to reveal her perseverance, while here He bestows the gift immediately to stop the mouths of the unbelieving Jews." (JohnChr).

Feeding the Four Thousand in Decapolis - Matthew 15:32-38- Mark 8:1-9

The number SEVEN for the loaves is very sufficient- SEVEN indicates completeness and spiritual perfection. Thy crowd had been Christ for THREE DAYS- this is the number of days Christ would rest in the Tomb.

Roman's 6:3-5

Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of Hisresurrection,

Numbers 6:24-26

“The Lord bless you and keep you;

25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

26 The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.” ’
