Welcome back. Great is His faithfulness.
Matthew 5:2-3
2 Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed in this context of this scripture is indicating heavenly, and spiritual exaltation and is not referring to earthly happiness or prosperity. In Hebrew, "POOR" means materially poor and faithfulness among God's people. THE POOR IN SPIRIT is having the heart of the poor, it's the same attitude as the poor, and are totally dependent on God.
Hebrews 10:19-22:
Hold Fast Your Confession
19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness[a] to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
v. 22: FULL ASSURANCE OF FAITH: no doubts or even second thoughts . SPRINKLED ... WASHED: is referencing a single action in the past, to baptism.
2. 2 Peter 1:3
3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
Peter is assuring us we have no need for anything other than what we have received. God has given us His energy (life) His personal presence- (godliness, or piety, devotion), both which we may grow in. VIRTUE - (Greek "arete") can also be translated as "excellence" rom"power". It's spiritual an moral excellence only attained by vigorous and courageous faith.
3. Romans 8:34-35, 37-39 read from the Bible
4. John 14:16-17
16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another[a]Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
HELPER - (Greek "parakletos") is referring to the Holy Spirit, another meaning "Comforter" , "Counselor", and "Advocate " ...
THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH is in us all meaning in all who are believers in Christ, and we are called to KNOW HIM. The HOLY SPIRIT prays in us and for us when we do not know how to pray, enabling us to pray in Christ's name - (see also John 14:13-14; and Romans 8:26) and giving us words of witness when we speak the gospel - (Mark 13:11).
John 14:13-14
And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you [a]ask anything in My name, I will do it.
Romans 8:26
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession [a]for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Mark 13:11
But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, [a]or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
