DAY: LET OUR LIGHT SHINE: (Mark 4:21-24)- “Let Our Light’s Shine by Preserving “TRUTH” See Note

Good evening. Great is His faithfulness.

NOTE: I got sidetracked in my video, I was trying to use Romans 2:1 as a source, and somehow, I read from Romans 1:24-32. What was interesting it all came together, because Romans 1:24-32 describes a nihilistic society, and I said that keeping our lights shining in a society like this is key to spreading the gospel and it helps to save souls, because the good we do outshines all the evil so don't quit the fight.

Mark 4:21-24

Light Under a Basket

21 Also He said to them, “Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand? 22 For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light. 23 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”

24 Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given.

"Of course we don't put lamps under baskets or beds; that would be ridiculous. But there are lots of things we do hide. We sometimes hide our feelings. We often hide our fears. We instinctively hide our insecurities, our weaknesses, our hurts. We definitely hide less than flattering parts of our backstories- the wrong choices We've made, even ones long past- because the thing we work hardest to hide is our sin." (The Chosen 40 days with Jesus devotional Day 25, page 114).

Mark the Ascetic, said "Do the good you know, and what you do not know will be revealed to you." See Mark 4:24.

Matthew 5:13-16

Believers Are Salt and Light

13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

SALT AND LIGHT illustrates the roles of the disciples and all who follow Christ in society. Be part of the world's healing not its destruction, let our lights shine the good we do will outshine the evil.

Other verses read and discussed Matthew 7:2; Romans 2:1; I also reads parts of Romans 1:24-32 it describes a nihilistic society, when we encounter these societies we need to keep letting our lights shine through the evil, I also read Luke 6:38

My redemption story was told in the video. And I share the Light of Christ with everyone each day!!!

I also read Ephesians 5:6-10- there St. Paul gives us a very sharp contrast of THE TWO WAYS, the way of darkness and the way of light is shown here. The animosity between the two ways is in thoughts (see in, vv. 6-10), and actions (seen in, vv. 8-12). We also to judge what the world says is reasonable on which what God says is true.

"Separate from Darkness" and "Walk in Christ the Light"

Prayer Focus from the devotional

Praise God for leading you out of the darkness and into His Light. Thank Him for the freedom and restoration He offers you through Jesus Christ. Confess any sin you're still trying to hide and ask God to help you remain in the light by not allowing sin another foothold. Ask for opportunities to be a shining light for Jesus Christ by sharing your ongoing story of redemption and hope.

Numbers 6:24-26

“The Lord bless you and keep you;

25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

26 The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.” ’
