DAY 86: "EVIL, GOOD AND GOOD, EVIL"
Isaiah 5:20
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter

Starting in v. 8- v. 25, we see that the prophet Isaiah callout the sins of his time being committed by the people of God. The Prophet Isaiah calls out these sins- "GREED" (v. 8), "LOVE OF PLEASURE" (v. 11)- "INDIFFERENCE TO GOD" (v. 12)- "INENTIONAL ACTS OF EVIL" (v. 18)- "MOCKING GOD" (v. 19)- "PERVERSION OF TRUTH" (v. 20)- "VANITY AND CONCEIT" - (v. 21)- "DISHONESTY" (v. 23)- And lastly- "REJECTING GOD'S LAW AND DESPISING HIS WORD - (v. 24)
Notice any of the similarities in our society today? Just like in Isaiah's time is no different than our time, people will turn away from the Lord and will be content in their evil deeds.

Acts 5:1-5
Lying to the Holy Spirit
5 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. 2 And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet. 3 But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? 4 While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.”
5 Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things.
We see here that Ananias and Sapphira were both held accountable for allowing Satan to fill both their hearts with lies - (see v. 3), and they both broke the trust and integrity of the Church. Their sin was not only the fact that they kept back possessions but the biggest issue was their deception (see v. 4). The moral here is that lying to the Church is equal to lying to the Holy Spirit - (see v. 3), the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth. Ananias and Sapphira were better off if they had been honest upfront or could have let Peter know if they needed to hold back some possessions or funds - (see also v. 4).
2 Kingdoms 1:13-16 (2 Samuel 1:13-16)
13 Then David said to the young man who told him, “Where are you from?”
And he answered, “I am the son of an alien, an Amalekite.”
14 So David said to him, “How was it you were not afraid to put forth your hand to destroy the Lord’s anointed?” 15 Then David called one of the young men and said, “Go near, and execute him!” And he struck him so that he died. 16 So David said to him, “Your blood is on your own head, for your own mouth has testified against you, saying, ‘I have killed the Lord’s anointed.’ ”
We see that King David turns upon the messenger, rebukes him for the murder of the Lord's anointed, and orders his own execution, King David was upset that Saul died in this manner, could have King David responded differently than having the man executed?
Numbers 6:24-26
“The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
26 The Lord[a]lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.” ’
