Good evening. Great is His faithfulness.
Mark 11:15-19
Jesus Cleanses the Temple
15 So they came to Jerusalem. Then Jesus went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. 16 And He would not allow anyone to carry wares through the temple. 17 Then He taught, saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’ ”
18 And the scribes and chief priests heard it and sought how they might destroy Him; for they feared Him, because all the people were astonished at His teaching. 19 When evening had come, He went out of the city.
THE TEMPLE CLEANSED- See also (Matthew 21:12-17; Luke 19:45-48)
Mark 11:15-19
11:15-19: The same as my Matthew 21:12-13-Notes: 21:12-13: THOSE WHO BOUGHT AND SOLD: Were trading in live animals to be used for sacrifices: THE MONEY CHANGERS: Traded Roman coins for Jewish coins since Roman coins, which had the symbol of Caesar, was considered defiling in the temple: (1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19)- teaches us that each person is considered a temple of God, it is also a sign that our hearts and minds must be cleansed of earthly matters!!!
Jesus was portraying righteous anger the same righteous anger when He healed the man with the withered hand - (Matthew 12:9-13, Mark 3:1-6; and Luke 6:6-11). Righteous anger is normal especially in the face of sin.
Psalm 4:4: Be[a] angry, and do not sin.
Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still. Selah
1 Corinthians 3:16:16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
1 Corinthians 6:19:19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
"TEMPLE" is referring to the individual Christian as well as the Holy Spirit who dwells in us all those who have received Christ.
