James 4:11-12- "Criticizing Others"
Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. 12 There is one [a]Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who[b] are you to judge [c]another?
Extreme criticism of others is just another case of "PRIDE" coming out of the things we say. It also shows us what a lack of faith looks like and with the criticism is united with evil works. This is also offensive to both the person being criticized and also offensive to God. God's will is to love others -(see James 2:8- "Royal law". - to love your neighbor as yourself) with humility and mercy, even if they are also in the complete wrong -( see James 3:13-18- "Godly Counsel")
James 4:13-17- "Overly Confident"
Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow [a]we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; 14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” 16 But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.
17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
True faith is being completely dependent on God and by this true faith we seek ways to do good works (see James 4:17). But to plan as if we knew what would happen is an act of arrogance. We are not to boast about tomorrow because it's the Lord that guides our paths, He is the One Who is in control.
"Let the Bible teach and preach itself and to keep ourselves from being overly confident let's end with James 4:17: "Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin."
Numbers 6:24-26
“The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
26 The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.” ’
