"Abraham, Model of Faith"
Romans 4:1-12
Abraham was the model of faith by "DISCIPLINE"- "OBEDIENCE"- "SELF-DENIAL"- & "STRUGGLE"
Romans 3:24: being justified [a]freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
Our justification isn't by a one time event or even by a simple declaration by mouth. We are justified just like Abraham through the ongoing communion with God, we are justified by entering into a relationship with our Creator. We accept our free gift of salvation and those who except this free gift do good, and the process of "DEIFICATION" we draw closer to God.
James 2:26:For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
The summary of this organic relationship of faith and works prove one thing only God can save us.
2 Timothy 3:5: having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
The form and power of godliness was never meant to separated- we normally don't have the power of godliness without the form. Charismatic power can be twisted for greed and evil (ACTS 8:9-20- Simon the sorcerer). Outward forms, even in liturgical worship can be carried on without power or conviction (False prophets and teachers- Matthew 7:15- Matthew 24: 4, 5, 24). Just like faith without the works is a form without substance (James 2:26)- so is religion without power.
Numbers 6:24-26
“The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
26 The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.” ’
