Good morning, my brothers and sisters in Christ.
Luke 11:29-36
Seeking a Sign
29 And while the crowds were thickly gathered together, He began to say, “This is an evil generation. It seeks a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah [a]the prophet. 30 For as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so also the Son of Man will be to this generation. 31 The queen of the South will rise in the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and indeed a greater than Solomon is here. 32 The men of Nineveh will rise in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here.
The Lamp of the Body
33 “No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a secret place or under a basket, but on a lampstand, that those who come in may see the light. 34 The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is [b]good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is [c]bad, your body also is full of darkness. 35 Therefore, take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness. 36 If your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, the whole body will be full of light, as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light.”
"THE SIGN OF JONAH": The first fact is that the rebellious Ninevites were willing to repent because of the preaching of Jonah and that Jonah, who came up out of the fish, is prefiguring Christ rising from the tomb (See Matthew 12:40). Let's contrast the repentance of the Ninevites' with the jews' failure to repent at something greater- that is the preaching of Christ, and His Resurrection - and this will result in their judgment. "QUEEN OF THE SOUTH:" SEE (3 Kingdoms (1 Kings 10:1-13, the coming of the Queen of Sheba).
Matthew 12:40: For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Matthew 5:13-16: Believers Are Salt and Light
13 “You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
"As Christians, we are the salt of the earth, meaning we are the preservers of God's covenant, and we are to give authentic flavor to the world."
See vv. 34-36, Luke 11, and compare it with Matthew 6:22-23
Matthew 6:22-23
The Lamp of the Body
22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is [a]good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is [b]bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
"The mind in Greek "nous" is the spiritual eye of the soul; its job is to illuminate our inner person, and it governs the will. By keeping our minds wholesome and pure is fundamental to living a Christian life."
