Prayer, Good Actions and Repentance (Reading Matthew 7:7-14) Verse of the Day Psalms 3:4 (KJV)

I pray all is well. I have been taking more reflection time lately trying to come to my senses. I have started my book and it is coming along okay but it will take some time to complete. Recently the world around us has been changing rapidly and has seen many people change. I have seen some change for the better and some for the worse, but for the one making bad choices; I will pray for them.

Last night I read the entire book of Saint Matthew in my (KJV) bible. My reflection brought me to a message that was for me. Maybe this might help someone else but it’s definitely worth sharing. Matthew 7: 7-14, Prayer and Good actions, here Jesus is talking to everyone. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Lately I have been dealing with some issues regarding an old College about debt. So after a few weeks of rudeness and private prayers to God, I have light. I received an email yesterday saying they will work with me to resolve this old debt, that I had no idea existed until recently. I had nearly given up thinking God decided to shift gears on me for something else. It’s clear all I needed was faith and patience, but at the same time I don’t feel worthy.

I don’t feel worthy because I haven’t been so nice myself regarding this issue. Even though I have been in prayer the best of me slipped yesterday, and I took it out all on the VA. Then again there must be something to this prayer, and repentance after all. I’m definitely a struggling man of God, and I’m not here to sugarcoat my faith. I’m here to bring daily messages when they come to me and apply them, and share the results; good or bad. Once again where I feel unworthy God has again come through, and it’s clear my path is in Theology.

I hope all is well, I truly do. Our world is forever changing, and it seems many of us are trying to send messages. Jeremiah 6:17 Also I set a watchman over you saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they will say, we will not hearken. (KJV). This is my favorite verse because it was written so long ago, and it’s part of the old testament it still rings true for today. I see many people unwilling to listen to the messages from those who truly care. Just keep an eye open and always be prepared for anything. Keep an eye open for those who are out to deceive you from the truth, because fear and worry does not come from God.

My final thoughts are this if prayer can work for me it can work for you. The secret to prayer is believing, having extreme faith. It works when you have finished and you have this overwhelming feeling in your hearts. It feels like everything is at ease and all the negativity has left your body and you can finally rest. The most important time for my prayer isn’t at meal time, it’s in private. When I first wake up I thank the father, the son and the holy spirit for giving a new day. When I go to sleep I thank the father, the son and the holy spirit for my day. I also give thanks for all those daily blessings, and along with the tests and struggles.

I know the differences when I am engaging in his word and when I’m going through the motions. It seems the more active I am with God, the more blessings I recognize. I’m nothing special, just a struggling man of God trying to help others find their way. Remember “Things meant to be, will always find their way.”

Verse of the day: Psalms 3:4 I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. (KJV)
