Our Daily Journal: Message for the Watchmen: Readings/Thoughts Song of Songs 3:1-11

Shalom,

Good Thursday morning it’s July 8, 2021, I pray all is well. In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Glory to You, our God, glory to You!

Heavenly King, Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, present in all places and filling all things, the treasury of blessings and Giver of life: come and abide in us. Cleanse us from all impurity and save our souls, gracious Lord.

Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. (3)

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

All Holy Trinity, have mercy on us. Lord forgive our sins. Master, pardon our transgressions. Holy one visit and heal our infirmities, for the glory of Your name.

Lord, have mercy. (3)

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

“The Watchman’s role is mentioned in the Bible, and comes with three different outcomes. The Watchman reports God’s news and messages, people listen all is good.

The Watchman reports news and messages, people fail to listen & are judged by God’s wrath; Watchman tries to warn; God is still happy with the Watchmen.

Lastly, is a lose-lose event, Watchman receives messages he fails to report God’s messages, the Watchman is held accountable by God himself.

Song of Songs 3:1-11

3:1-3:2: Seek: We all seek God in the wrong places and sometimes we forget that streets and marketplaces are symbols of this world. Our world is not God’s world but rather it’s a temporary holding place for us for now. To truly seek God the right way is either done through the Church as a place of worship. We can also worship God through the way Yeshua (Jesus) told us to worship God through spirit and in truth. God is spirit!

3:3: WATCHMEN: Is anyone who proclaims the word of God, prophets, apostles, and evangelists. People like you and me who have been Chosen to share God's words and messages to anyone who will listen to the good news of salvation.

3:4: The Bride, which is the Church and Israel, will not rest until her mother’s house, which is Israel to whom the Church was born, needs to recognize Christ as their God, Lord and Savior. Mary Magdalene fulfilled this prophecy when she found the tomb empty searching for the resurrected Christ. Mary found Angels in the tomb saying He isn’t Here for He has Risen, Mary departed from them and found Him (Christ). Sources (Matthew 28:1, Mark 16:1-8, Luke 24:1-12, John 20:1-18).

3:5, 3:6-7: The Passage is saying that the daughters of Jerusalem, and the predecessors of the Gentile Church. They both marvel at the coming of the King from the desert. The passage is telling us this is a wedding of procession for Solomon and his bride. It’s saying how the Church will meet her King at His Return (Christ our God). The bed is the “palanquin” or like a portable couch made of poles and canvas. Carried on the shoulders of mighty men; symbolic to the dwelling place of the King who rests in His saints forever. “Frankincense” is only allotted to God, myrrh is for the dead, the Bride is the vapor of incense, namely, because she worships.

3:8: The warriors hold swords, let’s look at (Ephesians 6:17-18) speaking of the Living and written words of God.

3:9, 10: The Palanquin is the same type of materials that were used to build the Temple. Symbolism is being used to show Solomon like Christ the King.

3:11: Symbolism to Solomon is a type of Christ. The crown with which His mother, Theotokos (Mother of God) and Ever-Virgin Mary. Crowned Him is His immaculate flesh, which He assumed from her and brought to the right hand of the Father (Hebrews 2:9, 8:1). In Orthodox weddings crowns are placed on the heads of both bride and groom.

Today’s Message: Watchmen or Watchwomen are extremely important to the survival of the Church. We are called to report what we see, and we are called to report what we hear. We are also called to share what has been placed on our hearts, and we know few will listen. Our job isn’t to question the messages even though sometimes they don’t make sense to us, but rather speak the truth. Lastly I have been called not to add or even take away from God’s words but rather tell it like it is. I care for the lost sheep because I was once one and everyone deserves a second chance if they chose so.

“I’m honored to be your Watchman, and I will strive to stay honest speaking only God’s truth and love.” - Jared W. Campbell

Closing Prayer: Closing Prayer: Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the Kingdom, the power and the glory of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

God Bless,
