Our Daily Bread: Revelation 1:2-5 Scripture Work & Breakdown

Shalom,

Good Friday morning it’s July 30, 2021, I pray all is well.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen!

Glory to You, our God, glory to You!

Opening Prayer of Enlightenment

Having received this day as a gift, I thank you Holy Trinity, for Your goodness and patience You were not wrathful with me, and idler and sinner, neither have You cast me down in my sins. But You have shown Your love towards me and have guided me to keep my daily watch and to glorify Your power. Enlighten my mind to study Your word and open my heart to understand Your teachings in Scripture. Help me to apply what I learn and to praise You with all of my heart and to glorify Your holy name, Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen!

“God’s word is a blessing because man can’t live off bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God! Yet scoffers continue to engage in their earthly desires living ungodly and hypocritically!”

Revelation 1:2-3

1:2: The word of God is referring to the Son of God. Testimony of Jesus Christ is referring to a witness concerning Christ. The Apostle John is testifying of Christ not Yeshua (Jesus) testifying of Himself. Bore witness talking about martyrs and persecutions, (Hebrews 12:1) are those who testify or bear witness, sealing it with their blood in death.

1:3: A Blessing is promised to all those who read and hear (Luke 11:28). There are seven beatitudes of the Revelation; this is the first, which can be found in (Revelation 14:13, 16:15; 19:9; 20:6; 22:7,14). Blessed is definitely signalling both the reader and whoever listens knowing that for both faith and works are inseparable during a time of distress and tribulation waiting on the day of Judgement when it’s all fulfilled.

Revelation 1:4-5

1:4: The Seven Churches were located in Ephesus along a major roadway according to my orthodox study Bible. The number SEVEN in the Bible is referring to fullness or completion, it seems to be suggesting the entire Church is in view. The Doxology (https://orthodoxwiki.org/Doxology) is Trinitarian https://orthodoxwiki.org/Holy_Trinity is involving the Father, the Spirit, and the Son (The existing, The was, and the Coming) may express the Father the one who is (Exodus 3:14); the Son, Who was (John 1:1); and the Holy Spirit who is to come (Acts 2) at Pentecost and shall always be present. Some Orthodox theologians say it may also denote the character of the Holy One, who is eternally present and exercises lordship throughout history (Hebrews 13:8). God also reveals the meaning of the present in light of the past and ages to come. The title “YHWH” (I AM) means He the One, the Beginning and the End, the Alpha and the Omega! Seven is the number of fullness or completion. The seven Spirits of God could also include the Holy spirit and several of His gifts blessing with the Father and the Son. Also there are Seven Archangels who according to Jewish tradition they stand before the throne of God (Tobit 12:15, 1 Enoch 20:1-8; 90:21, 22; Testament of Levi 8:2).

1:5: Jesus Christ is presented as the Risen savior, LORD of all (Zechariah 12:10) This gave hope to the early Christians that the Church will not be dominated by a cruel state. According to my Orthodox study bible, instead of washed, many Greek texts read “freed”. The term witness is referring to Christ who is the authentic witness of all divine revelation; and all that God has revealed is summed up in His life , witness, passion, Resurrection, and exaltation. Yeshua (Jesus) has started a new age for He is the first born from the dead. Through Him all of humanity has achieved universal sovereignty by His death, with His Resurrection and Revelation of His Kingdom for the world's salvation.

Good stopping point here for today like I said we are going to take our time. As we slowly work through Bible prophecy here in Revelation and other parts of the Gospel, I will point out some obvious signs. They have been brought up by other individuals that seemed to have gone ignored or even censored. I will only keep to scripture and nothing more, any evidence I show will be shown with a link. As we go deeper into the Book of Revelation any information I present is not predicting or even suggesting I’m right. But what I show will be backed up with the scripture and nothing more, I believe I report you decide. Because I do not have the authority to add or take away from God’s words and I have no intentions of being a False Teacher, but a teacher of the light, praising Him, and only Him the One, Christ our God!

Psalm of Thanksgiving

I give You thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart; before the angels I sing Your praise; I bow before Your holy presence and give thanks to Your name for Your steadfast love and Your faithfulness; For You have exalted above everything Your name and Your word. On the day I called, You answered me; my strength of soul You increased. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You preserve my life; You stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my adversaries, and Your right hand delivers me. The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; Your Steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. (Psalm 138: 1-3, 7-8)

Closing and Lord’s Prayer

Through the prayers of our Holy Fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on me and save me. Amen!

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen

God Bless You All!

Good morning, my brothers and sisters in Christ; I pray all is well. It has been a few days since I have done a study, and this morning's write-up, which draws its wisdom from 2 Timothy 4:3-5 (NKJV),
