Our Daily Bread: DAY 36: Trusting The Lord Wholly

For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come.
HEBREWS 13:14

DAY 36: Trusting The Lord Wholly

Matthew 6:19-24:

19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is [a]good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is [b]bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness! 24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and [c]mammon.

By attaching themselves to the treasures on earth, people cut themselves off from heavenly treasures...These people can and will become slaves to earthly things rather than free in Christ...The heart of discipleship lies in disentangling ourselves from the chains of earthly things, and attaching ourselves to the Lord our God, the true treasure… The mind is the spiritual eye of the soul; it illuminates the inner man and governs the will...Keeping the mind wholesome and pure is fundamental to the Christian life… As slaves serving two masters, people attempt to maintain an attachment to both earthly and heavenly things...But this is impossible, since both demand full allegiance...Jesus calls mammon (riches) a master not because wealth is evil by nature, but because of the control it has over people…

“We all have an inverted cross so flip it to get away from the pit...Christ is up and Satan is down, like an inverted cross just flip it!!! When you flip your inverted cross from down to up, your eyes become whole again so you can see the true light...I will explain more throughout my ministry on the inverted cross reference I’m making here. It can be found in Scripture, studying it and through the Holy Spirit I find it…

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
PHILIPPIANS 1:3

My Daily Prayer Journal

Deuteronomy 1:31

and in the wilderness where you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a man carries his son, in all the way that you went until you came to this place.’

THANK YOU, O LORD, for being my companion throughout the day...Though many things are pulling me in many directions, I know You will keep me on course to do what is truly important...Thank You as well for listening to me and counseling me when I need to verbally unwind or when I need advice...This I pray...Amen!!!

“The Lord will always fulfill His purpose for us and that is the truth...He is honest, pure and will never forsake us only we can forsake Him, it’s by our own weakness of the flesh where we struggle...The Spirit can be strong but our flesh will always remain weak, that is what we must fight, and what we must flip...The Lord will always carry us to the promised land, and to the path where He wants to be, we all have a purpose through Him, He will fulfill them when the time is right...He will always give us the Words to say when that time comes, He makes sure we stay pure and honest full of love and humility!!!

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For Yours is the Kingdom, the power and the glory of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen!
