Our Daily Bread: DAY 12: SOW A SEED OF FAITH EVEN ITS A MUSTARD SEED:

Shabbat Shalom!

Everything Has Its Time: To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven: Ecclesiastes 3:1

DAY 12: SOW A SEED OF FAITH EVEN ITS A MUSTARD SEED:

Matthew 17:19-21: Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” So Jesus said to them, “Because of your [a]unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. 21 [b]However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

17:19-21: St. John Chrysostom notes this rebuke is directed at the nine disciples who could not cast out the demon, whereas “the pillars” of faith- Peter, James, and John (Gal 2:9), were not included in the rebuke, as they had been on the mountain with Christ. This kind, refers to all powers of darkness, not simply those that cause particular illness. The banishment of demons requires faith, prayer, and fasting, for there is no healing and no victory in spiritual warfare without all three. Beginning with the Didache, the Father’s have taught that both the person in need of healing and the person performing the healing must believe, pray, and fast.

“These three things: faith, prayer, and fasting can be a task. This is where obedience can make us successful, the hardest thing about praying is doing it without ceasing. The hardest thing about fasting is sometimes sticking with it, and the thing about faith it seems fragile like freedom is at times. But this is where we dig deep, remaining patient and humble even in victory!”

My Personal Daily Prayer Book (JOURNAL)

Mark 11:23-25: For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.

11:23-25: Reference (Matthew 21:21): While it is not recorded that an apostle literally moved a mountain, the Fathers are clear that they had this authority if the need had arisen (certain saints did make crevices appear in mountains). Furthermore, not everything the apostles accomplished was written down. Beyond literal meaning, this promise is also an illustration of the power of faith and prayer in all areas of life. “Whatever we ask, without hesitation and believing in YHWH’s power, we shall receive” when we ask for spiritually profitable things (Theoph).

“HEAVENLY FATHER, WE PRAY and hear You answer in the voice of the new thoughts, in changed perceptions, and in the helping hand of a friend. From our knees, we lift our faces to the sun and feel autumn’s blazing warmth, and we know that You hear our every word.”

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For Yours is the Kingdom, the power and the glory of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen!

May YAHWEH Bless you all,
