Good morning… Great is His faithfulness…
Luke 1: 46-48
My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior…
Verse: For he has regarded the humility of his servant…
Epistle Reading: St. Paul's Letter to the Hebrews 5:11-14; 6:1-8 - (“Beware of Spiritual Immaturity”)
(v. 11) - νωθρός nōthrós, no-thros'; from a derivative of G3541; sluggish, i.e. (literally) lazy, or (figuratively) stupid:—dull, slothful…
(v. 11) - ἀκοή akoḗ, ak-o-ay'; from G191; hearing (the act, the sense or the thing heard):—audience, ear, fame, which ye heard, hearing, preached, report, rumor…
When Christians aren’t growing spiritually, teaching and understanding doctrine can become difficult to explain to them … Let us repent of being DULL OF HEARING - (v.11) - a constant criticism Christ and the prophets had of God’s people - and habitually and vigorously exercise ourselves in spiritual matters … The primary spiritual exercise is the study and knowledge of the Scriptures- (St. John Chrysostom) …
“We need to be patient and understanding with our brothers and sisters in Christ who are spiritually struggling … We are to be true spiritual leaders when it comes to aiding our own, and just like Jesus, love, mercy, compassion and forgiveness goes a long way more than being self absorbed” …
Hebrews 6:1-8
(v.1): PERFECTION: τελειότης teleiótēs, tel-i-ot'-ace; from G5046; (the state) completeness (mentally or morally):—perfection(-ness)…
This is Christian maturity, and is the result of spiritual growth … DEAD WORKS are done without God’s grace and also without faith … Works of the Law are dead to those who know the new covenant… Good works are done in faith toward God …
“Be in the state of completeness with God, by staying mentally fit in the knowledge of Christ… Truly, His Words and Teachings can surely transform not only your life, but transform your heart … it’s like being one way then all of sudden you are completely different and that thing that happened in between was Him - Christ” …
Gospel Reading: Luke 14:25-35 - ( “The Cost of True Discipleship”)
Each of us must bear his or her own cross … The burdens, trials and tribulations are different for each of us, and each of us have been chosen by God to bear certain struggles for his or her own salvation and also for the salvation of those around them … The cross should be taken up daily … Commitment to Christ should never be just a one time event … Rather, it is a continual practice of faith and obedience, even to the point of shame, humiliation and being persecuted by this fallen world …
“Stay sharp, and stay focused on the path your own it has turned from darkness to light, Christ is that light that shines through darkness, my brothers and sisters in Christ let the light shine, don’t hide it away”
In Christ love Jared W Campbell
Good Day …
