Morning Reads: Isaiah 49:6-10; Genesis 31:3-16; Proverbs 21:3-21- “Do not Reject God’s Salvation”

Welcome back. Great is His faithfulness.

NOTE: Greek word of the day: κακοποιέω kakopoiéō, kak-op-oy-eh'-o; from G2555; to be a bad-doer, i.e. (objectively) to injure, or (genitive) to sin:—do(ing) evil.

1Peter 3:17

For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

First Reading Isaiah 49:6-10

Isaiah 49:10: They shall neither hunger nor thirst,

Neither heat nor sun shall strike them;

For He who has mercy on them will lead them,

Even by the springs of water He will guide them.

In Christ we no longer thirst or hunger because He sustains us with His spiritual food. Nothing can strike us neither heat nor the heat of the sun. The power of the sun is no match for the power of God who dwells in us all. He has mercy on us and He leads us and even by the fountains of waters, He will guide us through all trials and tribulations, afflictions, He turns into light afflictions.

For He who has mercy on them will lead them, even by the springs of water He will guide them: In an immediate sense, this refers to God’s supply and sustaining of the exiles returning from Babylon to Judah, through the unseen hand of the Messiah. In the larger sense, it speaks of mercy and the provision of God for people as they return to Him in the last days, as they shall come from afar.

Third Reading Proverbs 21:3-21

"Godliness: Willing to do God's Will"

Proverbs 21:21: "A wise man assaults fortified cities and pulls down the stronghold the ungodly trust."

According to the commentary of the Orthodox Study Bible:

WISE MAN is one who knows and loves Chris-Wisdom and His virtues. He assaults the fortified cities of his own sinful passions and pulls down the stronghold, likely the opinions of the ungodly.

"We are currently and always will be in a constant battle with the forces of darkness. Spiritual warfare comes to us all, but the weapon against such attacks is found in Christ- Wisdom seeking His ways and imitating His teachings. Christ- Wisdom is the cure, He truly brings us out the darkness and into the light. Let your path lead you today to Christ, you will not regret it."

"Do not reject salvation, like many who do, for these people I pray often the Lord removes the scales from their eyes. But until than I pray, forgive them Father for they know not what they do."
