Morning Reads: (Ephesians 4:7-13) - (Luke 3:19-22) - "Unity" because We are ALL ONE in Christ …

Good morning… Great is His faithfulness…

Psalm 48.3,1

My mouth shall speak wisdom and the meditation of my heart shall bring forth understanding.

Verse: Hear this all you nations.

The reading is from St. Paul's Letter to the Ephesians 4:7-13

BRETHREN, grace was given to each of us according to the measure of Christ's gift. Therefore it is said, "When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men." (in saying, "He ascended," what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower parts of the earth? He who descended is he who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.) And his gifts were that some should be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

  • mentioned twice here in Ephesians 4 in - (vv. 3, 13): ἑνότης henótēs, hen-ot-ace'; from G1520; oneness, i.e. (figuratively) unanimity:—unity.

unity

unanimity, agreement

We as Christians are to contribute what we can to unity … We share one nature even though we are different people … We are all one in Christ, and we are members of an exalted body, which is the greatness of God, and not of ourselves… We see the importance of sticking together in this body is God’s work in the Spirit- (v. 3) … There is no place for fighting and arguing, to live heavenly and righteousness is done through solidarity and humility here in this fallen world, Jesus taught us to live in lowliness …

Whatever disunites man from God, also disunites man from man.

The Gospel According to Luke 3:19-22

At that time, Herod the tetrarch, who had been reproved by John for Herodias, his brother's wife, and for all the evil things that Herod had done, added this to them all, that he shut up John in prison. Now when all the people were baptized, and when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in bodily form, as a dove, and a voice came from heaven, "You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased."

  • HOLY SPIRIT- One of the UNDIVIDED Holy Trinity, and sometimes referred to as the Spirit of the Lord God - (Isaiah 61:1) …

Numbers 6:24-26

24 “The Lord bless you and keep you;

25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

26 The Lord[a]lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.”
