Matthew 21 Study & Breakdown/Peace With The Psalms/ Message Love of Others!!!

Welcome back to JPCE SPIRITUAL TALK AND OUR BIBLR STUDIES: Today is Matthew 21 and will read from Peace with the Psalms and close out with my message of how it is important to love others including our enemies!!!

PALM SUNDAY: THE MESSIANIC KING, SEE ALSO (MARK 11:1-10; LUKE 19:28-44; JOHN 12:12-19)

MATTHEW 21:1-11:

21:1-11: CHRIST'S TRIUMPHAL ENTRY: His entry into Jerusalem is celebrated by the Church on Palm Sunday: At the time of Christ it seemed Jewish Nationalism had led to the expectation of a Political Messiah one of great military power, that would deliver them from Roman Occupation so they could reestablish David's Kingdom: Yeshua came in humility and mercy to show He did not come to establish and earthly Kingdom: He choose the DONKEY TO RIDE ON as a sign of Him coming in humility and in Peace (The Prince of Peace), see also (Zechariah 9:9): "This entrance into the Holy City declares establishment of the Kingdom of God. It is also a promise of Christ's final entrance into the heavenly Jerusalem with all the believers and of His accepting the New Jerusalem as His pure Bride (Revelation 21:2):"

21:2: MATTHEW IS REPORTING A COLT AS WELL AS A DONKEY: Early Saints and Church Fathers interpret these two animals as representing the faithful Jews and the Gentiles who are brought together in the Kingdom:

21:9: THIS CRY IS COMING FROM (Psalms 117:25-26): which is associated with a messianic expectation: It was recited daily for SIX DAYS DURING THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES, AND SEVEN TIMES as branches were waved: HOSANNA MEANS, "SAVE, WE PRAY!!!"

JESUS PURIFIES THE TEMPLE, SEE ALSO (MARK 11:11-18; LUKE 19:45-48)

MATTHEW 21:12-17

21:12-13: THOSE WHO BOUGHT AND SOLD: Were trading in live animals to be used for sacrifices: THE MONEY CHANGERS: Traded Roman coins for Jewish coins since Roman coins, which had the symbol of Caesar, was considered defiling in the temple: (1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19)- teaches us that each person is considered a temple of God, it is also a sign that our hearts and minds must be cleansed of earthly matters!!!

21:15-17: "KEEPING THE FEAST WITH THE CHILDREN, AND HOLDING BRANCHES IN YOUR HANDS; SING HOSANNA-PALM SUNDAY:

ISRAEL: THE WITHERED FIG TREE, SEE ALSO (MARK 11:19-26)

MATTHEW 21:18-22

21:18-19: THE FIG TREE: Is a symbol of prosperity and peace and withers because its fruitless: This is prophetic for the time of Yeshua's, it is pointing to the Jewish Leaders: after 3 years of Christ's preaching, teaching and healing the leaders as well as the people were fruitless spiritually dead!!! He curses the fig tree and also a warning to those in all generations of what will come of them if they reject Him and His Message of Salvation!!!

21:21-22: WHILE IT IS NOT RECORDED THAT AN APOSTLE LITERALLY MOVED A MOUNTAIN: The early saints taught that indeed the apostles had this authority and especially if the time I had ever arisen for them to display it:

JEWISH LEADERS QUESTION JESUS, SEE ALSO (MARK 11:27-33; LUKE 20:1-8)

MATTHEW 21:23-27

21:23-27: SINCE CHRIST IS NOT A LEVITICAL PRIEST: The chief priests and the elders challenge His authority to cleanse the temple: Christ is careful not to reveal Himself to scoffers, He deflects them with a different question about JOHN: Both the elders' question Christ's question to require the same answer, and thus would lead a person to confess that Jesus has come from heaven: not answering them, here Jesus is teaching us not to answer people who come to ask of holy things with a malicious intent!!!

SINNERS BELIEVE

MATTHEW 21:28-32

21:31: Using their own principles, the elders convict themselves in their answer to Christ's parable:

LEADERS MISTREAT GOD'S MESSAGE, SEE ALSO (MARK 12:1-12; LUKE 20:9-19)

MATTHEW 21:33-46

21:33-43: SEE NOTES AND READ LUKE 20:9-16

21:41: AGAIN, THE JEWISH LEADERS CONVICT THEMSELVES: SEE NOTES AND READ MATTHEW 21:31

21:44-46: THIS STONE IS CHRIST: According to early Saints and Church Fathers this saying is illustrating the two ways of destruction: Those falling on the stone are people who suffer the consequences of their sins while in this life, and those whom the stone falls are unrepentant people suffering utter destruction in the final judgement!!!

Message Love of Others:

Hebrews 10:24

And let us consider one in another in order to stir up love and good works...

-Love and good works go hand in hand it's done by attitude and action!!!
