Matthew 17 Study & Breakdown/Peace With The Psalms/ Message About Labor!!!

Welcome back to JPCE SPIRITUAL TALK BIBLE STUDIES: Today is Matthew 17 and we will be discussing the Transfiguration which translates to: μεταμορφόωmetamorphóō, met-am-or-fo'-o; from G3326 and G3445; to transform (literally or figuratively, "metamorphose"):—change, transfigure, transform.

TRANSFIGURATION:

  1. God is light (1 John 1:5): The bright cloud, the Shinning of Yeshua (Jesus') face was like the sun, and the whiteness of His great garment!!!

  2. The Father bear witness from heaven concerning His Son Yeshua (Jesus):

  3. The Transfiguration not only proclaims Christ's divine sonship, but foreshadows His future when He as the Messiah will usher in His long awaited Kingdom!!!

  4. Moses represents the law and all those who have died: Elijah represents the prophets and he did not experience death-all those who are alive in Christ: The presence of Moses and Elijah also manifests the communion of the saints- (Hebrews 12:1):

  5. Finally, the Holy Trinity (The Complete Package of God) is manifest here, so Christ Himself is Transfigured, see (Matthew 17:2), the Father is speaking from Heaven which is testifying to Yeshua' (Jesus') His Divine Sonship (17:5), the Spirit is present in the form of extremely bright light surrounding Christ, overshadowing the whole mountain, (17:5)

THE TRANSFIGURATION, SEE ALSO (MARK 9:2-13; LUKE 9:28-36)

MATTHEW 17:1-13

17:1: A HIGH MOUNTAIN: The Scriptures teach us that a high mountain was often a place where Divine revelation always took place: (Matthew 5:1; Genesis 22:2; Exodus 19:3,23; Isaiah 2:3; 2 Peter 1:18):

17:2: SEE MY VIDEO CONTENT: I will read notes from an article on "TRANSFIGURATION"- That comes from my study material; see also and read notes: (Luke 9:31):

THE DISCIPLES LACK FAITH, SEE ALSO (MARK 9:14-29; LUKE 9:37-42)

MATTHEW 17:14-21:

17:14-16: SICKNESS IN SCRIPTURE: Was often connected to demonic activity: By kneeling, the father is showing humility, but also lacking in faith: While the disciples themselves also are lacking in faith (v. 20), here Christ our Lord rebukes the man, the father for placing all the blame on the disciples when in actuality it was his greater lack of faith that prevented his sons healing: Yeshua, on the other hand defends His disciples in front of the multitudes but will later rebuke them in private (vv. 19-21), teaching us that we should always first correct people in private, see also (Matthew 18:15-17)...

17:19-21: ACCORDING TO EARLY SAINTS AND CHRUCH FATHERS: This rebuke is being directed at the nine disciples who could not cast out the demon, whereas "The pillars" of FAITH-Peter, James, John (Galatians 2:9)- were not included in this rebuke, as they had been on the mountain with Christ, (v. 1): THIS KIND (v. 21): Is referring to the powers of darkness, not necessarily all those who can cause a particular illness: Casting out demons requires "FAITH" (v. 20), "PRAYER", AND "FASTING" (v. 21), for there can be no healing and no victory in spiritual warfare without all three of these!!! THE DIDACHE: Teaches us both the person in need of healing and the person performing the healing must believe, pray, and fast, see (Matthew 21:21)- Faith that can move a mountain!!!

YESHUA' (JESUS') SUFFERING, SEE ALSO (MARK 9:30-32; LUKE 9:43-45)

MATTHEW 17:22-23:

17:22-23: YESHUA (JESUS) PREDICTS HIS DEATH AND RESURRECTION A SECOND TIME, (Matthew 16:21) to show that He is going to His Passion freely and not being taken against His will!!!

YESHUA (JESUS) PAYS THE TEMPLE TAX

MATTHEW 17:24-27

17:24-27: THE TEMPLE TAX: Was a annual head tax on all the male Jews (except the priests) over twelve years of age for the maintenance of the Temple, see also (Numbers 3:43-51): Yeshua is the Son of God, He is both the High Priest and proprietor of the temple, and so making Him exempt from the tax: Yeshua, instead pays the tax, to avoid any offenses and to show that He has indeed and totally identified Himself with mankind!!!

MESSAGE ABOUT LABOR:

1 TIMOTHY 5:8

But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

-We are to provide for own especially our families if we don't, the Father will not provide for us, and that's worse than an unbeliever!!!
