Welcome back to JPCE SPIRITUAL TALK BIBLE STUDIES: Today is Mathew 12 Scripture read, study and Breakdown, there are 50 verses to read and cover so I'm going to jump right into our Study!!!
MATTHEW 12:1-50:
THE PHARISEE'S HOSTILITY, SEE ALSO (MARK 2:23-3:6; LUKE 6:1-11)
MATTHEW 12:1-14:
12:1-2: THE PHARISEES ARE BOTH RIGID AND HYPOCRITICAL IN THEIR LEGALISM: The Law allowed plucking a few heads of grain in a neighbors field (Deuteronomy 23:25), it was considered reaping and therefore was unlawful on the Sabbath!!!
12:3-5: OT EXAMPLES OF BLAMELESS VIOLATIONS OF THE SABBATH: Yeshua instead demonstrates the law is not absolute over human need or service to the Lord our God: The partaking of the showbread by David and his men (1Kg 21:5-7), prefigures the Eucharist, which in the OT was forbidden to anyone except the priests, but the difference is that in Christ it's given to all the faithful!!!
12:6-8: Yeshua (Jesus) is Lord of all so He is telling us Mercy is all he requires for salvation it's not about religion or even sacrifice, but mercy, humility and love for all!!!
ISAIAH'S SERVANT OF GOD, SEE ALSO (MARK 3:7-12; LUKE 6:17-19)
MATTHEW 12:15-21:
12:16-21: Yeshua's refusal to fully disclose His identity as the Messiah is foreseen by the Prophet Isaiah, (Isaiah 42:1-4): Reason's for secrecy- (1): the growing hostility of the Jewish leaders; (2): The People's misunderstanding of the Messiah as an earthly, political leader; and (3): The Lord's desire to evoke genuine faith not based solely on marvelous signs: The servant (v. 18), is first referring to Christ, and to all who follow Him!!!
12:21: The Mission to the Gentiles after Pentecost was also foreseen by Isaiah, (Isaiah 42:4):
IS YESHUA (JESUS) FROM GOD??? SEE ALSO (MARK 3:20-30; LUKE 11:14-23)
MATTHEW 12:22-37:
12:22-30: BEELZEBUB, OR BAAL, was the prince of the "dung heap" or lord of the flies-a god worshipped by the Philistines (4Kg 1:2-16): Baal, is being called the ruler of the demons (v. 24): the impossibilities of demons fighting against themselves illustrates the irrational pride and envy of the Pharisees in their extreme opposition to Yeshua (Jesus):
12:32: BLASPHEMY AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT: Is blasphemy against Divine activity of the Spirit, is blasphemy against pure goodness!!! A sin against the Son of Man is definitely easier to be forgiven because the Jews did not know about Christ- see my video content I make a comparison to Genesis 4 talking quickly about Cain and Able- Cain completely rejected the notion of salvation instead he chose evil over pure goodness further summary in video content!!!
12:34: BROOD OF VIPERS: SEE, MATTHEW 3:7: Brood means, "offspring"
12:35: THE HEART: In Scriptures refers to the center of consciousness, the very seat of intellect and the will, which is our very spiritual life and needs to proceed!!! The Scriptures are our daily bread our spiritual nourishment for the day- "Man Shall not live by bread alone but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4)!!! 12:38: The Pharisees were given many signs but with their wickedness demand another to be given to them: Yeshua does not cater to those looking for a sign who have wicked intent in their hearts!!! The only sign that will be given will be His Passion and His Resurrection- (Luke 23:8-9)- In video I read this passage and have a summary with it!!!
12:39: ADULTEROUS GENERATION: Gives an illustration used for Israel by the prophets when Israel would be unfaith to the Lord (Jeremiah 2, Hosea 2:2-13)...
12:43-45: WHEN THE ISRAELITES WERE DELEIVRED OUT OF EGYPT: They did not repent for their impure ways, unclean spirits took up residence in their hearts (Deuteronomy 31:20; Psalm 105:34-39- remember my Psalms is different): Thus, we guard our hearts!!! If there is not full repentance and the Holy Spirit is not dwelling in a person, an expelled demon will return with others and reoccupy it's abode!!!
12:46-50: CHRIST'S RELATIVES: Do not understand His identity or His Mission: Yeshua rather points to a spiritual family based on absolute obedience to the WILL OF MY FATHER (v. 50)...In Jewish "BROTHER" can indicate any number of relations: Abram called his nephew Lot "BROTHER" (Genesis 14:14); Boaz spoke of his cousin Elimelech as his "BROTHER" (Ruth 4:3); Joab called his cousin Amasa "BROTHER" (2Kg 20:9): Christ Himself had no blood brothers, for Mary had but One Son: Yeshua (Jesus): The brothers mentioned here are either step-brothers, sons of Joseph by a previous marriage, or cousins: Yeshua (Jesus) also commits His mother to the care of John at the Cross (John 19:25-27), so leads to me to believe if Mary had other children to care for her, than why did Yeshua commit her to care of His disciple John, the one who wrote Revelation???
