OPENING PRAYER
Shine within our hearts our loving Master the pure Light of Your Divine knowledge and open up our hearts and minds so we understand Your Teachings in Scripture!!! Help us to apply what we have learned, And after having conquered sinful desires because You are the guardian of our souls and bodies, that we may pursue a spiritual way of living doing and saying all the these that are pleasing to You...For You are Christ our God and we give Glory to The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit- Amen!!!
INTO YOUR HANDS LORD YESHUA (JESUS CHRIST) WE COMMIT OUR SOULS AND BODIES, BLESS US AND HAVE MERCY ON US AND GRANT US ETERNAL LIFE!!!

JOHN 10- STUDY & BREAKDOWN
YESHUA, THE GOOD SHEPHERD & YESHUA GIVES HIS LIFE FOR THE SHEEP
JOHN 10:1-21
10:1-18: YESHUA' CONSERVSATION: with the Pharisees continues, there is no break between (John 9:41) and (John 10:1): all of this is taking place at the conclusion of the Feast of Tabernacles- (see my notes John 7:1): Christ is contrasting their leadership with that of His own: They have failed as pastors of God's people (Pastor comes from the Latin word for shepherd): Their leadership has been marked by deceit and pride as well as lacked compassion: Christ, on the other hand, fulfills all virtue!!! According to St. John Chrysostom, THE DOOR IS GOD'S WORD, meaning both the Scriptures and our Lord Himself- (vv.7, 9), since the Scriptures reveal God the Word: The one who tries to lead in a way that is neither in Christ or even according to the teaching of the Scriptures is A THIEF AND A ROBBER: rather using the door so all can see His works openly, these false shepherds use underhanded means to control, steal, and manipulate the people: that ultimately led to destroying their souls- (v. 10): In contrast, those pastors who lead according to Christ will find eternal life- (v. 9):
10:3-5: AS CHRIST HAS INTIMATE KNOWLEDGE: of every person, pastors in Churches strive to know their people BY NAME, that is, personally: These pastors should endeavor to understand each persons situation as well as needs, the people will respond to a true leader, trusting he is a follower of Christ:
10:8: THE PHRASE ALL WHO EVER CAME BEFORE ME: does not refer to Moses or genuine prophets, but to people claiming to be the Messiah both before and after Christ, examples such as Judas of Galilee and Theudas- (Acts 5:36, 37)
10:10: THE ULTIMATE THIEF IS SATAN: who spreads lies and heresies among the people of God, and also luring away and deceiving both the leaders and the people: LIFE means living in God's grace here on earth, while the more abundant life indicates the Kingdom of God that is to come!!!
10:11-15: CHRIST REVEALS HIMSELF AS THE GOOD SHEPHERD: (1): He enters by the door (v. 2), that is, He fulfills the Scriptures concerning Himself; (2): He knows and is known by THE FATHER (v. 15); (3): He knows His people personally, and therefore is KNOWN by them (vv. 3, 14); and (4): HE GIVES HIS LIFE for the sake of His people (v. 11), which is a direct prophecy of His coming Passion:
10:16: OTHER SHEEP: Is referring to the Gentiles, who will brought into the ONE FLOCK with the Jews under the ONE SHEPHERD: For example, the Church transcends ethnic and racial lines: Orthodox teaching from the beginning that there be one bishop serving a city (Canon 8 of 1 Nicea: (LINK): https://www.christian-history.org/council-of-nicea-canons.htm l), a principle affirmed in every generation: Writing in the early second century to a church that held separate liturgies for Jewish and Gentile Christians, St. Ignatius taught, "Be careful to observe a single Eucharist, for there is one Flesh of our Lord Yeshua (Jesus) Christ, and one cup of His Blood that makes us one, and one altar, just as there is one bishop...This is in line with God's will..."
10:17-18: I LAY DOWN MY LIFE: The Lord is clear that His life-giving death will be voluntary: He does nothing apart from the Will of HIS FATHER, AS He laid down His own life for us, we lay down our lives for Him and for the sake of others!!!
10:21: THOSE WHO RESPOND: in faith are not merely impressed by the signs, but perceive the holiness of HIS WORDS!!!
YESHUA GIVES ETERNAL LIFE TO THE SHEEP
JOHN 10:22-24
10:22: THE FEAST OF DEDICATION: took place approximately three months after the Feast of Tabernacles- (John 7:1-John 10:21) and was known as the "Festival of Lights" (also called Hanukkah): Hanukkah commemorates the rededication of the temple IN JERUSALEM after the Seleucid King Epiphanes desecrated it in 167 BC (see 1Mc 1-4-chapters): At this festival, the leaders of Israel's past were commemorated, many of whom were themselves shepherds!!!

JOHN 10:25-42
10:25: BOTH WHAT CHRIST TOLD THEM AND THE WORKS: He had done have already answered their question. Only the Messiah could open the eyes of the blind- (see my notes John 9:32): or perform these miracles that bear WITNESS TO HIM: Likewise, only the Messiah could speak to the hearts of people as Christ had- (John 7:46; John 9:21):
10:26: AS I SAID TO YOU: is indicating these are the same Pharisees whom Christ addressed three months earlier- (John 10:1-5):
10:30-33: RESPONDING TO THEIR QUESTION (v. 24),: Yeshua (Jesus) reveals Himself to be fully God: ONE means one in nature or essence: He is God before all the ages, and He remains God after Incarnation and for all eternity: The plural verb ARE indicates TWO DISTINCT PERSONS, while confirming a continuous unity: The Jews clearly recognize this claim of divinity (v. 33) and so accuse Him of BLASPHEMY!!!
10:34-36: YOU ARE GODS: people who receive God's grace in faith will partake of His divine nature- (2 Peter 1:4) and can rightly be called gods-(See 2 Peter- remember my notes on Deification): Christ is effectively saying; "if those who have received this honor of grace are not guilty for calling themselves gods, how can He who has this by nature deserve to be rebuked???" (JohnChr):
10:39: BECAUSE CHRIST IS GOING TO HIS PASSION: Voluntarily and according to His own Will (vv. 17, 18): His accusers cannot arrest Him until He is ready (John 7:30; John 8:20; see also Luke 4:28-30):
"Part of being a Good Shepherd like Christ sometimes means we can't be afraid to stir the waters at times...When we stir these waters we must do it respectively, patiently but most importantly use the Lord's wisdom to help us engage probably!!! My brothers and sisters in Christ I come to you all today in good faith as a watchman, but it seems the enemy is on the prowl...Please remain steadfast be careful who you get the word from...What do I mean by this, and I have said many times do not concern yourself with the doctrine of man, but the doctrine of the Lord our God!!! Let the Bible interpret itself meaning let the Lord's words interpret themselves!!! I have come across many false teachers online especially on YouTube they are deceivers from the pit itself!!! I have a question how does a so called teacher of the Bible go online and teach the Word but does not have their Bible opened up at all??? I have said many times trust His words and only His words, teachers are only teachers, seek Him and only Him seek the treasures and gifts of heaven above all-putting down all earthly and worldly fears and concerns!!! Lastly please be on the lookout and be aware of the deception we are in the LAST DAYS my brothers and sisters in Christ, don't be discouraged and please look up and smile because our redemption draws near!!!
