DAY32: LOAVES AND FISH PART 1 (Mark 6:31-34) Confession (Psalm 31(32)- See my Note in my WRITE UP…

Good evening. Great is His faithfulness. Christ is Risen!!!

Note: in my video I mentioned an old High School football coach Jay F Buckley had passed away at the age 74... I was going to say I prayer for his departed soul as I got through the evening reflection it was best to keep that prayer personal... in Christ love Jared ...

Mark 6:31-34- Feeding the Five Thousand

And He said to them, “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. 32 So they departed to a deserted place in the boat by themselves.

33 But [a]the multitudes saw them departing, and many knew Him and ran there on foot from all the cities. They arrived before them and came together to Him. 34 And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things.

Christ here in v. 31 is giving REST to His disciples to show us that all of us who are engaged in preaching and teaching that they must not always labor continuously, but take a rest from time to time.

St. Bede wrote in regards to v. 31: HARD WORK- "The great happiness of those days can be seen from the hard work of those who taught and the enthusiasm of those who learned. If only in our time such a concourse of faithful hearers would again press round the ministries of the world."

St. Bede wrote in reagrds to v. 34: HE BEGAN TO TEACH THEM MANY THINGS- Breaking open the Word: "As He broke up the five loaves and two fishes, and distributed them to his disciples, he opened their minds to understand everything that had been written about Him in the law of Moses and in the prophets and the psalms."

"The disciples were genuinely depleted of their resources. They had just returned from their preaching/healing/traveling tour, which would've been totally exhausting (Mark 6:7-13)." -The Chosen 40 Days with Jesus Book 3 Devotional page 140.

Psalm 31(32)

Is a prophecy concerning enlightenment (Understanding) which is fulfilled in the Sacrament of Baptism.

"God knows excatly how much you can take, and He will never permit you to reach a breaking point." Barbara Johnson

Jesus never allowed His disciples to reach a breaking point, God will always deliver us and give us the energy and strength to push on, than it will be time for rest.

Numbers 6:24-26

“The Lord bless you and keep you;

25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

26 The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.” ’
