Good evening. Great is His faithfulness.
19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?”
20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your [a]unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. 21 [b]However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
St. John Chrysostom notes this rebuke as being directed towards the nine disciples who could not cast out the demon, "The pillars of faith" - Peter, James, John - (Galatians 2:9), these three were not included in the rebuke, because they had been on the mountain with Christ- (see, v. 1 here in Matthew 17).
Galatians 2:9: and when James, [a]Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.
THIS KIND - (v. 21) is referring to the darkness the evil in heavenly places, and not about particular ones that cause illnesses. Jesus tells us that the banishment of demons requires FAITH - (v. 20), PRAYER, AND FASTING - (v. 21) - there is no healing or spiritual victory without all three of these. The DIDACHE is a good read, and a easy read and can be found online, the Father's have always taught that both the person in need of healing and the one performing the healing must believe, pray and fast, on moving a mountain. I read some notes from orthodox study Bible explaining more about this meaning please see my video.
13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you [a]ask anything in My name, I will do it.
When we pray in Christ's name this means not to simply attach in "Jesus' name we pray" at the end of our prayers. We are to pray according to His WILL, ask Him to help you to always put His will before ours. (Matthew 6:10): Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven. Here shows us how to pray properly according to His Will and how to sat in step with God.
1 John 5:14-15
Confidence and Compassion in Prayer
14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
"Our confidence comes from self denial, self denial trains our bodies, souls, hearts and minds. From this training we grow closer to God, and this is why fasting is important part of our renewal process and reconciling ourselves back to God and setting ourselves on the foundation which is Christ."

I read from the devotional, and I gave a lesson from Matthew 5:29-30: If your right eye causes you to [a]sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to[b]sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. This went along with the questions from the devotional. Here this passage is telling us not to take this literally but requires decisive actions to avoid sin and continue a life of purity. I gave an example of toxic relationships, and certain statements made by others who hurt our feelings. My struggle is one that is deep, and it was by a selfish statement that caused me to feel, disappointment, hurt and a lot of confusion. The statement just revented the wheel and opened up an eternal wound, but it's through our trials and tribulations we find strength, and I believe even though God doesn't reveal all at once, He does reveal things that sometimes causes pain. But the pain is a stepping stone and a good teacher showing me my healing and comfort comes God and my faith is what makes me well. Please see my video for further discussion sometimes cutting out toxic things for awhile is all part of our cleansing, all we can do is our part, and so I have no expectations, I just keep my faith and trust in the Lord.
The Bible provides all the answers we need just take the time and listen to God's voice, and He will answer your prayers and provide you with the key to understanding all trials and tribulations.
Numbers 6:24-26 “The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
26 The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.” ’
