DAY 8:HOPE: The Chosen 40 Days With Jesus: (Romans 5:1-5) "Justified By Faith In Christ" ...

Good evening … Great is His Faithfulness …

DAY 8: HOPE

Faith Triumphs in Trouble

5 Therefore, having been justified by faith, [a]we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces [b]perseverance; 4 and perseverance, [c]character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

- FAITH in Christ is what makes us justified, and it’s also an ongoing never ceasing communion with God, through prayer, fasting, good works including almsgiving …

Romans 3:24: being justified [a]freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

With this ongoing communion with God, we have peace with God and it’s everlasting … The Greek word “pistis”, here translated as “faith”, also render “faithfulness” … Meaning faith is more than the conviction that something is true – (James 2:19): You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! Having genuine faith is a continuous loyalty and obedience to God, and this type of faithfulness justifies a person through God’s grace …

πίστις pístis, pis'-tis; from G3982; persuasion, i.e. credence; moral conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation; abstractly, constancy in such profession; by extension, the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself:—assurance, belief, believe, faith, fidelity.

Being Justified – requires redemption (1): setting us free from sin and death spiritual death that is – (2): uniting us eternally with righteousness and life …

1: What suffering have you experienced that has produced perseverance character, and hope … How we define suffering is truly different for us all because we all experience different levels of suffering … Suffering can be pain, it can be mental, it can be political banishment – or even something that has do with race … Either way suffering is different from us all so for me to answer this is hard for me … Suffering itself builds these things we are talking about because there is no faith or hope without struggle and sufferings of some sort … My answer is this my lifestyle is what led me to Jesus, and so my sufferings produced all of this when I finally understood what it truly meant to be justified by faith, and it’s not a one- time declaration by mouth like some like to teach …

2: What was the evidence of your spiritual growth??? It’s everything you all see now is my spiritual growth …

Ecclesiastes 7:8-9

The end of a thing is better than its beginning; The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. 9 Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry, For anger rests in the bosom of fools.

3: Have you ever been brought to tears over God’s goodness and favor??? Describe the circumstances … I’m brought to tears daily with the goodness of our Lord and Savior, to describe an event would not do justice when He is constantly shocking me daily …

Prayer Focus:

Be brave and ask God not to relieve you of the tough circumstances or long wait for answers but to change you through them …

Psalm 30 (31): Part of tonight’s Prayer Focus …
