Good evening... Great is His faithfulness...

DAY 5: DESPERATE

JOHN 4:49-54

49 The nobleman said to Him, “Sir, come down before my child dies!”

50 Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your son lives.” So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. 51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, “Your son lives!”

52 Then he inquired of them the hour when he got better. And they said to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.” 53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives.”And he himself believed, and his whole household.

54 This again is the second sign Jesus did when He had come out of Judea into Galilee.

We see in v. 49 that the nobleman's main concern is his son ... In v. 50 it seems the nobleman doesn't understand how Jesus can heal, but Jesus ensures him " your son lives", the nobleman believes the word Jesus spoke and went his way ... In v. 51, the nobleman is met by his servants and is told "your son lives" ... In v. 52 the nobleman inquires the time of the healing quite possibly still in some unbelief, the servants tell him the seventh hour ... in v. 53, the nobleman comes to the realization the seventh hour was the same hour Jesus told him, " your son lives" ...

The number seven represents the fullness and completeness or fulfillment...

According to the commentary of the Orthodox Study Bible

THE NOBLEMAN'S CONCERN IS CLEARLY FOR HIS CHILD: His faith in Christ was weak: He clearly does not understand that Christ is Lord over illness even from a distance, he doesn't grasp that Jesus would have power to heal even if the child were to die: Finally, he inquires about the timing of the healing (v. 52), still not completely trusting the Lord's authority: only after all is confirmed does he AND HIS WHOLE HOUSEHOLD BELIEVE (v. 53): healing the child from a distance, Jesus heals not only the body of the child, but the soul of the nobleman!!!

"We are all desperate for Jesus, He is what our souls need to feel complete it's incomplete feeling without Jesus" ...

It was my old lifestyle that made me desperate for Christ and the love He brings to all who take His yoke it's there where we find rest and comfort... My brothers and sisters in Christ if you stay desperate for Christ and His everlasting love ... You will need to keep the hunger for Him and His words, than

you will never stop seeking His Wisdom, you will never stop asking to be filled the Holy Spirit, because you will never stop knocking on that door ... It's by that obedience you Discpline yourself into the full will of God" ...
