DAY 4: ENDGAME - The Chosen 40 Days with Jesus Book 2 - (Matthew 4:23-25) …

Good evening... Great is His faithfulness...

DAY 4: ENDGAME - Book 2 Devotional The Chosen

Matthew 4:23-25

Jesus Heals a Great Multitude

23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. 24 Then [a]His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them. 25 Great multitudes followed Him—from Galilee, and from [b]Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.

(v. 17) "From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "REPENT, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" ... notice how the crowds do not swarm to Jesus when He commands repentance as seen in- ( v. 17); instead only when He begins to heal and perform miracles - (vv. 23-25) ... This is underlying a fact that the people are misunderstanding the true nature of the kingdom His kinybeing at hand ... It also shows Christ's concession "to give credibility to what He teaches" among the fickle MULTITUDES - ( Theoph) ...

"Like healing, suffering is not the end- it serves the endgame" ...

(The Chosen 40 Days with Jesus - Devotional page 25, beginning of last paragraph) ...

"Our trials, tribulations, and afflictions teach us the importance of our faith and the importance of being totally dependent on our Creator, Christ our God" ...

  • Jared W Campbell

Please see the video for the prayer focus and the answers to three questions of moving forward - there was also a small reading from Revelation 21:3-4, it was part of question 3 ...

In your own words, explain why a loving God allows pain ... It is through these hardships and afflictions where we find our strength ... There is no faith without struggle and through the pain is what leads us closer to God knowing the importance of staying totally dependent on Him and less on ourselves ...

Job suffered ... John the Baptist suffered ... Paul suffered ... The list goes on ... Bur alol three men were monumentally used by God to build His Kingdom and point people to Jesus... What does their suffering teach you about your own??? I'm do different than any of them because it teaches me through our sufferings we find a true reason of why He created us to be in communion with Him for everlasting ...

Read Revelation 21:3-4: Healing is a certainty for all who believe because God promises heaven will pain free ... How does knowing what lies ahead impact what you're dealing with today??? What lies ahead we already know it's a world full of both blessings and tribulations and by knowing this we stay the course building our foundation, our faith on the Rock which is Christ our God ...

Revelation 21:3-4

3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Numbers 6:24-26

4 “The Lord bless you and keep you;

25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

26 The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.” ’
