Good evening … Great is His faithfulness
DAY 36: SET FREE PART 2
25 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, 26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. 28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”
29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the [a]affliction. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?”
31 But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’”
32 And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. 33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came, and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. 34 And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace and be healed of your affliction.”
(Mark 5:25-34)
The authority over life and death belongs in the hands of God alone – (Deuteronomy 32:39) Now see that I, even I, am He, And there is no God besides Me; I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal; Nor is there any who can deliver from My hand. Jesus is in one essence with the Father, so He also has authority – (John 5:21) “For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.” So, the healing of this woman is showing us the power of Christ to both cleanse and heal … The woman knew was unclean so this why she secretly approaches Jesus from behind, she told herself if only touch His outer garment I will be made well … She had an act of faith, meaning by her faith it what made her well, she had overwhelming faith in Jesus knowing He was the only One who could have healed her … We see in v. 22 – Jesus brings her good cheer because of her faith, I’m sure Jesus also felt blessed Himself to see how beautiful her faith was that day, He also corrected her thinking calling her “daughter” … Calling her daughter was to also restore Jairus who was next to Jesus when this happen, Jairus daughter was twelves years of age, and had died, the woman with the blood issue for twelves years this is parallel and the beauty of God's perfect timing …
The spiritual interpretation of this encounter given by the Fathers is that the woman here in scripture symbolizes human nature in general or as a whole … Humanity we know is in constant suffering, struggles and subject to death, symbolized by the FLOW OF BLOOD … THE PHYSICIANS who could not cure her stands for various religions of the world, as well as the OT Law, which in itself was unable to grant life to all of humanity … It’s only through Christ we are freed from suffering and bondage to sin …
Moving Forward
1. What are you willing to risk getting to Jesus??? I would do what it needed to get to Him just like the woman did … Having faith is a beautiful thing and we should never be ashamed of it, the woman from the scriptures gives me hope to never give up on having faith …
2. Describe a time when you felt desperate to be in His presence … What did you do??? When my social anxiety kicks in I turn to my Bible and my Bible work, and sometimes I feel people think I’m ignoring them but I’m not … I find peace in my Bible and my Bible studies and sometimes when things are overwhelming maybe when I’m a party or big together it’s comfort me to slip into my readings and then I can internally pray to our Creator for comfort … I felt this was the best example I can give I’m sure I will explain more in my video this evening …
3. How has Jesus restored the parts of your life that Satan has tried to use to destroy you??? Jesus has restored it all!!!
Prayer Focus
That prayer you prayed from the previous entry??? Keep going with it … Keep bringing your vices to God and ask Him to free you from them … It’s okay to be desperate …
Numbers 6:24-26
“The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; 26 The Lord [a]lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.” ’
