DAY 33: PERCEIVE – “PERCEPTION”
The Lamp of the Body a
22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is [a]good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is [b]bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
(MATTHEW 6:22-23)
THE MIND – (Greek – “nous”) is the spiritual EYE of the soul – it illuminates our inner person and helps us to govern our wills … It is said keeping the mind wholesome and pure is a key fundamental purpose to living a Christian life …
Perception - a way of regarding, understanding, or interpreting something; a mental impression.
John 8:12
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life.”
I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD: Our Lord spoke these words referring to the great lamps being for the conclusion of the Feast of Tabernacles – And our Lord declares Himself to be the fulfillment and the divine object of all celebrations of light … (John 1:4-9; 1 John 1:5), these Scriptures tell us that God the Father Himself is the light, an attribute He bestows on all His followers – (Matthew 5:14; Philippians 2:15) … Our Lord is confirming His claims by performing the great sign of OPENING THE EYES of a man born blind – (John 9:1-7; see especially John 9:5) …
Moving Forward
1: Describe when you first realized you could see and perceive clearly …
One night while I was sitting on my bed praying, something enters my heart and instantly I was full of joy and my hunger for God increased big time … I have never shared this with anyone, but ever since that night 2 years ago it changed my entire outlook, it was if everything was open just not eyes, but my heart, my mind, my body and my soul, and my spirit got stronger …
2: How have your healthy eyes affected your whole body??? In other words, how has your healthy perception in Christ affected your life in general???
Christ changes our relationship to the world and moves us into an eternal relationship that is never ending, but full of peace and joy no matter how bad it gets, because I know my true citizenship is indeed Heavenly …
3: In what circumstances have you rejected the “ranger’s flashlight”, and what can you do to ensure that happens less frequently???
I’m still thinking about this question hopefully by tonight I will have an answer …
Prayer Focus:
Thank God for making your eyes healthy, but ask Him to help you never take that for granted and to always “see clearly” …
