Good evening… Great is His faithfulness…
DAY 20: TRUST
And so find favor and [a]high esteem
In the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall [b]direct your paths.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
8 It will be health to your [c]flesh,
And strength[d] to your bones.
9 Honor the Lord with your possessions,
And with the firstfruits of all your increase;
10 So your barns will be filled with plenty,
And your vats will overflow with new wine.
(Proverbs 3:4-10)
(v. 3): tells us there is faithfulness in almsgiving, and this is a manifestation of obedience to Wisdom from the heart, and also helps to ensure that we never forget His laws … Those who forget the laws of Wisdom exalts his own wisdom - (v. 5)’ stumbles on the straight path -(v. 6), relies on his own discernment - (v. 7), and will turn to evil passions - (v. 7) … According to the commentary of the Orthodox Study Bible is part of the golden chain around one’s neck - (v. 3; see also Proverbs 1:10) … For one attached to his material possessions will soon forget and forsake Wisdom and His laws - (v. 3) …
I have a small story from yesterday that fits almsgiving and trust in the Lord …
Moving forward:
1: In what areas of your life do you trust in your own cleverness??? Sometimes things may sound clever in my head, but sometimes they shouldn’t be stated or said, that’s because I’m a very sarcastic guy who usually is taken out of context, I’m not always understood very well … My answer is that sometimes my cleverness shouldn’t be pursued but instead keep myself in step with God’s will and not my own will … There are moments the Lord uses my cleverness but it's a very rare occurrence depending on the situation I’m in …
2: If you’re brutally honest, do you identify more with pre- Jesus Matthew or disciple Matthew??? Right now I’m in between. I'm using most of the day to reflect on this question, tonight I’m letting it flow … The question was answered in tonight’s video …
3: What have been some of the dramatic plot twists the Lord has orchestrated in your life??? This one will also flow tonight when I start the study … The question was answered in tonight’s video … I talked about some drifters I have helped and have had interesting chats along the way of my journey in Christ… Each of these drifters I was able to speak to them about Jesus …

Thank God for asking you to follow Him, repent of the times you rely on your own skills, and ask Him to show you areas where you can shift your allegiances …
